This truly brought a smile to my face. 😊 Actually... I think I like myself better in anime form. 😏 #ifthenshecan ✨ Repost ✨ “Today I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to listen to inspirational women speak in a @kodewithklossy panel. One of these speakers was @seesydsoar . Something she said really resonated with me: “I don’t fail. I either win, or I learn.” What are some quotes that impacted you? 💙”

Sometimes, I wonder if I am making an impact with @seesydsoar . I spend a lot of time thinking, creating, and writing post that, I hope, will inspire. Then I see the messages, comments, and shares from everyone - thank you! It validates me and the work I am doing to encourage others! It is crazy to see you when you put your heart and soul into something, that people really do notice!!! IF she can see it, THEN she can be it. That is the motive. @ifthenshecan identified a huge gap in the representation of STEM women in media and sought out to change that. Now, there are 125 groundbreaking, boat-rocking, intelligent, and powerful women ambassadors here to change the face of STEM! But where can we see and meet these amazing women?!? Glad you asked, I am proud to announce the ifthencollection.org website has launched today!!! ‪&& It is the LARGEST free image library of #WOMENINSTEM . I was asked “how do you think your time in college prepared you or did not prepare you for your career?” I really had to stop and think about this. We spend our whole lives preparing for our dream jobs and BOOM we get the job and..... now what?! @UOfMichigan is hosting a virtual camp for middle school and high school students this summer! At camp, the students are able to learn about different majors, opportunities, and career paths from Michigan alum! 💙💛💙 I had the privilege of being interviewed by University of Michigan student Zoe Espinoza! She is a mechanical engineer with a bright future and a true excitement for space exploration. 🤩 ❤️ 🚀 l We had a fruitful discussion about careers, life after college, and advice on what we should take away from our education. While it may be up for debate if one is better than the other, we can all agree having hope & curiosity for the future is a must. What are you hoping for? What are you curious about? She thought of creating a frequency-hopping signal that could not be tracked or jammed. She conceived an idea and contacted her friend, composer and pianist George Antheil, to help her implement it. Together they developed a device for doing that, when he succeeded by synchronizing a miniaturized player-piano mechanism with radio signals. They drafted designs for the frequency-hopping system, which they patented. Today, various spread-spectrum techniques are incorporated into Bluetooth technology and are similar to methods used in legacy versions of Wi-Fi.⠀ ⠀ #IfThenSheCan #WomenInSTEM #ScienceHistory #HerstoryThen #HerSTEMStory #STEMQuotes

On June 24, NASA proudly announced the Mary W. Jackson NASA Headquarters building. The actress Playing Role in Hidden Figures (Janelle Monáe ) said “I plan on being an engineer at NASA…I have no choice but to be the first.” The traditional stereotype of engineers, especially during the segregation era of the 1950s, was that they were a white, male force. For Mary Jackson, this presented a huge challenge to becoming an engineer.⁣ ⁣ Despite all the obstacles that were thrown along Mary Jackson's path, she successfully became an engineer at NACA. Because of her intelligence and courage, she was one of the engineers that helped America win the space race. Furthermore, she has also significantly contributed to NASA's Project Mercury. ⁣ ⁣ In 1979, after being frustrated by her inability to land a management-level position, Jackson decided to leave the engineering department and accept a demotion in the Langley’s Federal Women’s Program Manager. Through working in this wing of NASA, Mary Jackson was able to influence the hiring and promotion of future female mathematicians, engineers, and scientists⁣. #ifthenshecan #shecanstem #herstory #maryjackson #nasa #hiddenfigures #unhiddenfigures
