I can’t shake the sadness, guilt and anger I feel regarding the despicable murder of George Floyd. I’m becoming so aware of the privileged life I have always lived. One where I can turn off the TV and not be affected by the violence and injustices that have become commonplace for black people in America. White privilege is so real and so abhorrent. White Americans have to fight for the people who are targeted by our country’s racist and broken system if we want any semblance of a country that values liberty and justice. I like this article by medium that talks about what white people like me can do to to protest the fervent racism and hatred in our country (https://t.co/0VyfXkF4W9?amp=1 ). A link to important petitions and places to make donations to are in my bio. If you feel inclined, please comment and help educate us all on anything else white Americans can learn or do to help. This has to end. #blacklivesmatter #raisethedegree
According to the latest figures, 75 percent of Earth’s land surface has been severely altered by humans. Deforestation and unsustainable agriculture as well as the illegal trade of endangered wildlife increase the risk of human-animal contact. Pandemics like COVID-19 could occur more frequently unless we stop destroying nature. It’s not too late for us to make a difference. Join me and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP ) this Biodiversity Day to help build a greener future for us all. xx Liv #biodiversityday #covid19 https://bit.ly/3ftHwE6
@krissy is the dopest. also swipe 4 a surprise.
today I took the classic Instagram dive, comparing myself to girls incessantly and wishing I had what they looked like they had. it’s so silly how we/i define ourselves by the most arbitrary things and idolize ppl who are humans just like us. anyway, i wrote this song today about the tendency I have to go down this self sabotaging hole and now I’m posting it on Instagram because I love irony. if ur reading this pls know that ur value is so inherent. it’s not something that could ever be defined by something as contrived and manipulative as social media. you are so loved!
happy 50th annual earth day! this anniversary falls on rlly weird uncertain times but our responsibility to protect our planet is as important as ever. especially because when ecological integrity is fractured through processes like deforestation, conditions are created that enable the spread and often emergence of diseases such as COVID-19. lets keep demanding systematic change and implementing personal lifestyle changes to protect our planet. if you are able to donate, @rainforestrust is quadrupling any donations made today @ https://www.rainforesttrust.org/conservation-action-fund-landing/ . we need the earth! she doesn’t need us! stay safe love u!
