Decided to sleep in today and didn’t go for that run until 8am. Regret. Lol. I wish I had gotten up at 5am because it was so warm on my way back already. 😂 But I’m 3/3 so far. Yes. I look tired and that’s because I am tired. It’s so much hotter down here than what I’m used to so I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep. Getting myself out of bed at 5am and out the door at 5:15 was so hard to do because I just wanted to sleep... but I knew that if I didn’t go at 5am I would go any other time during the day because it would get too hot for me. So yea. Today’s #tuesdaytoning Core Challenge gets straight to the point! All you need is a mat. This one is rep based, so use the counting as a distraction and jam through it! Just don’t forget to tag a friend because it’s way more fun to have someone to talk to tomorrow about how sore your abs are 😂 . Here it is: 5️⃣0️⃣ mountain climbers (total ) 4️⃣0️⃣straight leg bicycles (total ) 3️⃣0️⃣plank dips (total ) 2️⃣0️⃣half burpees 1️⃣0️⃣full sit ups *rest 1 minute then repeat from the bottom up!* . A curtsy lunge is an excellent exercise to stabilize our hips and strengthen your glutes. It also works the hamstrings and inner thigh. These are all important muscle groups for runners and they can be all taken care of with this simple exercise. You can follow these instructions and try it: Start from standing, and step your left leg behind you and to the right so your thighs cross, bending both knees as if you were curtsying. Make sure your front knee is aligned with your front ankle. Return to standing, and switch sides to complete one rep. A good start is three sets of 12 to 15 reps. Squats day baby! 5 working set of 4 at 125. Felt heavy... as expected considering I had ran 7 miles before I did any lifting. lol. Followed by standing calf raises, one day calf raises will work and my calves will grow. Lol. Along with stiffed leg deadlifts, spilt squats, leg extensions and glute bridges. Even though the squats felt heavy it’s good to see myself be up at 125 now. Made it to 10 miles. Was aiming for 13 to get all my weekly mileage done and out fo the way but the heat got to me again. At least I make it to 10. Lesson learned today: it’s that time of the year when I really need to push my long runs to Saturday or Sunday morning. So I can run before the heat starts. Set out for 15 miles but truth is I struggled all 12 miles. It’s hot outside and even though I had my hydration pack I still felt too hot. But I went in today with the idea that I wanted to get my long run out of the way so I didn’t have to worry about it for the rest of the week. But here I am...heat exhausted. Lol. As much as it a gonna suck to have to wake up early on saturdays, I guess now there’s no choice. At least I did 12 though. Cookie energy! Or food energy! I am basically eating about 2100 calories a day at this point Just to maintain 95lbs. Which is a lot considering that’s usually what someone 1.5-2x my size needs to eat to maintain The lifting had really increased my metabolism. And I am always hungry. Insatiable hunger is no joke and it kinda sucks. Hitting 115 lbs for 8 reps this week. Running is a huge part of who I am, it’s my passion and something I just love to do (especially with my run squad cheering me on )🎉🏃🏼‍♀️👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 . . I began running to get back into shape and lose weight after having both my boys. Yeah sure it helped a little but it never got me to the weight I wanted. I got to a point where I decided that this was my body and I wasn’t going to hit that goal. So years of running and eating the same, I stayed the same. Then I found a nutrition program which I know I needed but was scared to start, I dove in with both feet anyways. Less than 3 weeks ago I started and am only a few pounds away from my goal! A goal that YEARS of running never got me close to 🎉💪🏼 Best part? I am still running and it makes me happy! I will be training for my first marathon in the Fall, running will always be a part of my life but I needed something more, something different to help transform my body into something I was proud of! 💪🏼 . . Don’t ever give up on your goals, if it gets tough change your approach and be willing to do whatever it takes. Your happiness is worth it 🙂

“Out here living my best life.” . I see people using that caption on posts where they’re on a yacht or somewhere exotic sitting in front of an amazing view. . For me, living my best life is being able to go out for a run and enjoy this beautiful nature, dirty sneakers and all 😜. I am so grateful for my health, for my working limbs, for my motivation and desire. . There are some people who physically can’t get up and go for a run or even walk. Don’t take the small things for granted. Don’t let your working limbs go to waste. We were made to move so move! . This is just a reminder that you don’t need to travel the world or buy expensive things to have the feeling that you’re “living life.” . Comment something that you’re grateful for.
