So many people have asked me how my first week back to work has been and I’ve told everyone the same exact thing. It sucks. Now let me explain. I have an amazing job. I like what I do and am blessed to have an employer who gave me 12 weeks off. But, we had a full 12 weeks together. We got to sleep in and watch Real Housewives and take our time meal prepping. This week the dogs have acted like assholes because their tiny human isn’t here. ( I made the last minute decision to take him to the babysitters house so I could concentrate ) Nights feel like a rush. It feels like nothing works, shit keep breaking and the meals around here lately have been less than stellar since we’re all so tired and feel like we can’t think straight. And let’s not even talk about the condition of the house. Definitely looks like we haven’t cleaned in months. However. That’s just one week. We will slowly figure all of this out and perfect our new normal. As for today we are celebrating the fact that we made it through our first week relatively unscathed. It’s Friday! Last leg day workout for phase 2 done! I wasn’t feeling it today, woke up cranky but I got this workout done. Now it’s time for the pool with the kids Working on controling my emotions has been one of my goals since the Mr left in January. I’m a stress eater, I’m an anxiety monster, I sometimes sink into a negative dark place, but recognizing this issues has helped me get through them without letting them control me. This past Monday I did something brand new to me. I went paddle boarding for the first time! 🏄🏼‍♀️I had no idea what to expect but, now I want a board after my very first lesson haha! . The calmness I felt while just paddling along (after getting my balance ) felt amazing. I really got to think. I thought about my journey and it’s wild because, if you would have asked me over a year ago to sign up. I would have said NO WAY! I would never have gotten on the board in fear of falling off, being to over weight, potentially sinking the board, people looking at me. I mean the list goes on! On Monday I didn’t think of any one of those things. I just got on and did it. 🙌🏼 . This journey is so much more than just losing weight. It’s to feel better in my skin and to learn to love myself just as I am! 🖤 . I’m remembering who I was and I’m adventurous and I love trying new things! 🎉 If I never said yes to a 30 minute workout or my daily shakes or this coaching gig, I’d still be hiding. I’d still be lost. I’d still be miserable with myself. This legit changed my life and I’m so thankful! . My body isn’t magazine perfect, my body isn’t one of an athlete, I’m not a size small. I am not the prettiest girl. I could tell you many things I’m not, but I could also tell you many things that I am. I am the best mother I could be, I am strong, I am able, I am capable, But most importantly I AM TRYING!! I take videos of my workouts sometimes, because I like to see my form/ see if There is anything I could work on. I was looking at the videos from yesterday and I couldn’t help but think how proud I was of how I looked. Sometimes I didn’t even want to watch them because watching videos of ourselves really shows all our bad angles. But for the first time I didn’t mind how I looked. Ps ) yes, i still have a big butt, and yes, I am still short and yes, I am still fat. Which is why I am trying to be healthier. When people see me in person the first thing they do is stare at my body and it’s very rude, because I could tell and feel them judging me. Even though I’ve lost weight I do still have more weight to lose and I still have lots of work to do. Bring a mom is my number one priority. I know I am a provider, caretaker and snack bitch to my kid’s! 🤣 But I also know that I can’t be 100% if I’ve not filled my cup. There are days where I snap and lose my cool quicker than others. I know there are days where I am extra patient with my kids. I know I do better when I’m better. Hello Tuesday! 🖤 Today I saw so many before & after photos which I love! People were saying their before photo isn’t a “before”. That these photos are progression photos. Well, I like that so much more than a “before” photo. . So here is a side by side almost a year in the making. The photo on the left was my introduction photo for coaching and the right was just a few weeks ago. . Everyday I put myself first.
