The reality is I don’t get to have unlimited productive days unless I want some kind of reckoning. So I had a nice, productive, higher functioning day yesterday and today my brain is taking a break whether I like it or not. This makes everything tough — watching a whole episode of TV, reading, sitting up, cooking, even making a video. You name it, it is a challenge. But mercifully being mentally shut down also shuts down the part of me that might be very upset at the fact that I am so disabled. I basically just exist, hopefully without too much angst. Usually the angst comes along if I’m cycled up to a normal state or into a dysphoric hypomanic state. Usually the biggest provider of an evening boost is what I call a “sound bath,” where I take a bath and listen to movie score music. So according to my OBGYN I am officially in menopause. “I took a nose dive straight down” (his words ) He also said, I’m at the lowest number possible (15 ) and my ovaries are no longer working! WHY AM I PUTTING ALL THIS OUT HERE??? Because I had no clue (since I had a procedure done 10 yrs. ago so had no period since then ) I DIDN’T REALIZE HOW CHALLENGING IT COULD BE FOR SOME WOMEN... Rest is an important part of the journey to your higher self. It has taken me awhile to find the balance between taking breaks and completely distancing myself. And sometimes I still need the reminders! With a few stressful situations arising recently, I forgot to slow down until it was too late and the Universe forced me to slow down with illness. I realized pretty quickly the reason why and have been immersing myself in the rejuvenation period. This used to mean completely disappearing on social media. This used to mean my business slowed way down. Now, it means I prioritize the most important things and let the other shit slide. Your body picks up on intuitive messages. What is your body telling you?

“Just sit and cry it all out” probably won’t get as many likes, but sometimes... maybe it should. It can be quite helpful, as long as our tears flow with authentic tenderness and self-compassion. It took me until I was 31 years old with a completely “broken” heart to even let myself be fully, really sad. Allowing myself to responsibly be with my deep grief, heartache, shame, hurt, and despair is a f*cking revelation for this Sagittarian escape-artist. So I let it happen, trusting it won’t last long and knowing it needs to be felt as it arises, and can be lovingly released. Sometimes I really need my own words. Being with what-is before I find the lesson or growth point is what allows me to pay the price for repeating a pattern. I don’t believe we need to be punished. We do grow from the pain of contrast. I know myself, and when I don’t allow the pain of the hot stove to fully singe my skin, I just keep putting my hand there to test it. Yep. Still hot. So in case you happen to need it, here’s your permission to just sit and cry for a day. Or two. Or maybe it’s anger, fear or frustration. Maybe it’s thoughts of “what’s the point?” “Is this beyond repair?” “Am I just broken?” Our mind loves those ones when things get hard, adding shame to our pain. The point is to be all here. Nothing is broken, especially not you. All of you is beautiful and welcome. We are learning to trust life during a time where a lot feels completely untrustable. It’s big work we’re all doing, friends. No one is doing it alone. There’s power in vulnerability, and freedom in realizing that it’s ok if we don’t have it all “right” (whatever that means ). Even if we have powerful insight, we’re still allowed to feel it all. In fact, we kinda have to, in order to truly grow and be free. All parts are welcome to come home. All grief welcome. All your nooks and crannies are beautiful. Ok I’m ready. Let’s be brand-new. Together. 🤍🦋✨ #oneness #opening

this post doesn’t begin to capture the complexity, the struggle, nor the consequences of this eating disorder, but i hope it does provide some information and help reduce the stigma of yet another eating disorder that lives in shame. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ unfortunately, many people with bulimia are excellent at hiding it, since they have had to adapt in order to avoid feeling misunderstood by others or ashamed. the disorder can present itself in overwhelming, all-consuming thoughts and compulsive behaviours, which can be difficult for others to understand and therefore is quite isolating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ fortunately, bulimia is very treatable. the recovery process is not a straightforward or easy road, and continued medical, mental health and nutritional support is recommended even after recovering 💜 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @neda @the_nedic

HOW I BEAT THE BLOAT AND ACHIEVED A LEANER STOMACH 👀 1. CUT THE SUGAR! ⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️ I have been doing so much research around sugar and wow, we really don’t need it. I cut down the amount of sugar I was eating during lockdown and it’s made a massive different not only on the exterior but ALSO the interior. I’m talking hormone health and periods! I think we seem to fall into this trap of believing artificial sugars from cakes and sweet treats are needed to provide us with energy and that’s a big fat NO from me! I used to over indulge in sweet treats and to be honest looking back, it made me bloated, inflamed, low, and I just didn’t ever feel good in myself. NOW I totally understand what sugars do to the body, I have 90% cut them out and wow I feel so much better. Of course I still have treats here and there but please take my advice when I say. CUT IT DOWN and watch the difference. 2. MOVE YOUR BODY! It’s quite simple, I used to work out at the gym a 4/5 times a week, mainly doing strength training and then eating the wrong things. Since lockdown I have totally switched up my training style incorporating lots more HiiT and high intensity exercise. Even just 25 minutes a day and it has had a huge impact on my body - you will have probably seen this from my live workouts I was doing. Even if your starting out - a 25 minute fast walk will do the job - JUST GET MOVING! I find working out in the morning before breakfast really helps combating my bloated belly that I always used to suffer from! 3. Intermittent fasting - this helped me a lot during lockdown as I really gave my body a break and reset my digestive system. Intermittent fasting is also amazing for cell repair and the control of glucose in your body, AMONGST many other things (have a good google ). I also did a YouTube video on this so to learn more about how I intermittent fasted please head over to my change (Lucy May Finnegan ) 4. Stress and anxiety - I find stress and anxiety are another main cause of my bloat! My body goes into so much discomfort due to pure stress. So I try and combat this with meditation and yoga if I have time - easier said than done though to be honest!

🤔Parece inacreditável, mas muitas pessoas que passam por mim sentem dificuldade em se permitir pequenas doses diárias de autocuidado. ⠀ 🙋‍♀️ Essa imagem revela muito de mim! Eu amo e preciso fazer pequenas pausas para contemplar o meu redor, me reenergizar, ficar sozinha comigo mesma me curtindo🥰. Sou apaixonada por café e ele me auxilia muito nesses momentos! Sou viciada, confesso! 😗 ☕️ Não apenas no maravilhoso aroma que deixa no ar e no sabor amargo e marcante, mas também na sensação gostosa que traz alento ao meu coração mesmo nos dias mais difíceis. O café representa pra mim uma pausa para saborear a vida, uma pausa reflexiva, um momento só meu. 😊 Mas, também cai muito bem acompanhado de pessoas especiais e de boas conversas (nesse momento um pouco mais restrito, mas a lembrança remete ☺️ ). O café representa simbolicamente o aconchego que tinha da minha avó e também me faz lembrar que preciso aproveitar os pequenos e significativos instantes da vida diariamente. Que não preciso esperar por grandes realizações para sentir prazer e que não preciso esperar o final de semana para ser mais feliz porque mereço, posso e devo fazer todos os dias valerem a pena! E mesmo naqueles dias mais difíceis, saber que posso me proporcionar uma pausa e usufruir um pouco daquilo que me traz para conexão com o aqui e agora e com as lembranças boas de aconchego. Simples assim! ✨🙏🏻 ⠀ Que aí também é viciado como eu no saboroso cafezinho? 🤩 Como sou uma pessoa muitooo curiosa em relação a vida de meus seguidores e de seus hábitos saudáveis… gostaria muito que me contassem o que vocês tem feito para trazer mais aconhego para suas vidas?
