Core Circuit was the workout this morning and it was probably the right one as I am feeling a little anxious as my oldest is currently having his wisdom teeth removed and he beyond ok with needles and he has been off his meds for 2 days leading up to today and is sitting at a much higher rate of agitation then when he is one his meds. We prepared him as best as we could, the rest is up to him. Fingers crossed.

𝓣𝓪𝓴𝓮 𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻𝓼𝓮𝓵𝓯⁣ ⁣ Sounds easy right?! Yet it’s something I need constant reminding to do! It’s all too easy to put everyone else’s needs before your own in the hope you’ll get some time for yourself at the end of the day.. & often that time never comes as all you want to do is sleep where you’re so pooped from seeing to everyone else! Sound familiar?! It’s certainly something I struggle with & something I often need reminding of as I just don’t seem to listen to my own inner voice clearly enough when it comes to taking care of myself! It’s like I need external permission! ⁣ ⁣ Thank goodness for my soul sister @daughter_of_the_ferns who seems to always know when I’m overdoing things & need a soft gentle compassionate voice to remind me to slow down & take care of my own needs. A permission slip if you will. It’s like my soul resonates with her voice & I listen on a deeper level as I know she wants what’s best for me. When was the last time you committed - or recommitted - to your journey? Like really went all in?🙌🏻 It may seem a little crazy, but I get a little giddy with every new challenge, every new workout program that I start. 💪🏻 But I have to be honest that there are times when I just don’t have that ALL IN mentality. I may be all in on the workouts & dipping a toe into healthier eating or totally committed to my meal plan but not giving 💯 to my workouts. And there’s nothing wrong with doing things your way if that works for you. I dedicate a chunk of time every day to read or listen to personal development. This has honestly been a game changer for me. Reading and listening to these has helped shift my mindset. I have been able to connect with SO MANY amazing women who are there for me, and I haven’t even met most of them in person! Needing to get back into my morning routine. Sunday self care! What do you do for yourself that little bit of me time? I don't know about you! But I'm honestly rubbish at self care! I'm always making sure everyone else is okay than making time for things like this! The kids bought me some bath bombs early in July for my birthday and I've never even tried one before till now! I've just never got round to using them and sitting still is not my forte! There is always so much more I could be doing house work, entertaining the kids. BUT! Right now I'm taking so well deserved me time and it's quite nice listening to gentle relaxing spa music. I'm not sure how long I will last but I am trying self care is so important to be the best for you your family, kids, husbands, friends it's important to relax and recharge now and again! You can't run 100% if you don't take some ME time now and then. This is me committing to 30 mins Sunday self care and I'm going to try to make this more routine more me time. 25 POUNDS!!! In January, Daniel and I signed up for an insurance policy that allows you to earn a free Apple Watch. You get points for working out, buying healthy food and getting a physical. When the results came back in from my physical, my heart sank. My blood pressure was high and my BMI put me in the obese category. I knew I had been slowly gaining weight, but I didn’t think much of it. This was my wake up call. I could make a million excuses as to why I was gaining weight OR I could make a change. In 7 months I have lost 25 pounds. It has taken time and dedication, but I can tell you it was absolutely worth it. I not only feel better but have so much more energy! Sunday Swimming!! The sun wasn't shining and the sea was a bit rough but managed to kind of swim for the first time im ages! Not the best bikini body in the world but for a post covid 55 year old menopausal woman who doesn't work out 24 7 not looking too bad. A few months ago I wouldn't have even shared this image or would have spent ages getting the right angle or whatever to make it look good but this is me as I am enjoying a play in the sea!! To be honest I am not happy with how I look but I am learning to live with the fact the due to the menopause even if I exercise the weight still goes around the middle and there is more to life than a bit of middle age spread. It was good for my soul to be in the water and that is all that matters!! Consistency with workouts hasn’t been at the top of my list while being with my family and mourning the loss of my father. I have made time for SOME workouts. BALANCE... I’m away with family and friends for the weekend... and for the most part I have been enjoying that time with everyone - spending quality time with my family and enjoying food and drinks with good company. But I understand that life is about balance. I can’t expect to continue results if I totally give up for the weekend and don’t put some time in for exercise - which is why I made sure that I put in that effort to complete the tiny 20 minute workout today as part of my workout program. It was so hot, super late and I didn’t have a lot of space - oh and I had an audience of my friends watching (😅 ) but I got it done. Good Morning ✨ Over the lockdown period I’ve found I have more time for myself then I usually would (nap times and bed times ) which in this time I have *tried* to make a conscious effort to do something for me! Sometimes I find this hard as you fellow mamas will appreciate something always needs to be done - cleaning, washing etc. However I’ve done it and reignighted my love for reading books 📚 although I have swayed towards things like The Secret, Happy & Good Vibes, Good Life @pagesofemma & @simplytogether have made me want to pick up a good old fiction book. HAVE YOU EVER DONE A BOXING WORKOUT? And I’m not talking about the time where there is a fly in your house and you are the doppelganger of Mohammad Ali in the ring I mean like a real boxing workout. Doesn’t have to be in a ring, but can be shadow boxing I used to take kickboxing, does that count? Yeah why not. It’s almost exactly not the same if the same, if you know what I mean. Meaning, they are different but closely related Regardless, the benefits of boxing are intriguing - improves balance - helps posture - sculpts the midsection - improves bone strength (say whaaaaaat ) - relieves stress (uh, yeah, you’re hittin’ things ) - improves hand eye coordination - improves alertness - among many other awesome benefits YES PLEASE! Did I forget sexy arms? My Dad and Uncles used to box back in the day, maybe I shall carry on the tradition? Ha! Okay Deani, let’s just focus here…. Instead of banging your head against that wall of zero time and too much to do; consider that this is somewhat self-inflicted. Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to me after my last post. So this has been a very hard decision to make but with everything going on with the Pandemic and Lockdown and having this time to sit and think, after a lot of thought and consideration I have decided to take a break from teaching Pole indefinitely. This isn't to say I'm never going to pole again, just that after 8 years of pole, 4 of those teaching, that now is an opportunity to take a break and find the love for Pole again for myself. I love my students and I am so proud of how far they've come, I know I will miss them dearly. They have provided me with much love and support over the years that I wont ever forget. Oh hello! 💁🏼‍♀️ Here's me looking the best I ever have, immortalised by the artistic talent of @beckiebeans . Honoured doesn't begin to cover it. 🖤 I've started a crochet project for ME. Not something I fancy making that will end up in the shop, just something for me to keep. I cannot remember the last time I did that.
