Chakrasana — also called Full-Wheel Pose and Upward Bow Pose, is a backbending posture that opens up the chest, tones the thighs, abdomen and arms, and engages the whole body. As a heart-opening stretch, this pose helps release sadness and depression. Step-by-Step Instructions 1.To begin, lie on your back. 2. Bend your knees so that your feet are flat on the floor in a parallel position in line with your sitting bones, about a foot’s distance away from your hips. Press your feet firmly into the floor. 3. Place your hands on the floor just above your shoulders with your fingers facing your shoulders. 4. Press into your hands and lift your upper body off the mat, resting the crown of your head lightly on your ground or mat. 5. Press into your feet and lift your legs, pelvis and abdomen off of the ground, activating your inner thighs. 6. Push more into your feet, bringing more of your weight into your palms. This will protect your lower back. 7. Maintain strength and stability in your arms by continuing to press firmly into the mat. 8. Let your head hang in a neutral position, making sure not to strain your neck. 9. Hold for 5-10 breaths. 10. exit the posture, slowly lower your arms and legs and bring your spine back onto the mat vertebrae by vertebrae. Benefits 1. Increases energy and heat 2. Today #steadysaturday we will learn some breathing patterns that will help you with Hypertension CHANDRA BHEDHNA HOW TO DO: • Choose a comfortable sitting asana like Swastikasana or Padmasana e.t.c sit comfortably. • Make a pranayam mudra by your fingers (press the index and middle finger of your hand towards the palm ). • Now use your right thumb to shut the right nostril. (If you are left handed then make the pranayam mudra with your left hand and shut the right nostril with index and middle finger of your left hand ). • Now inhale slowly and deeply through your left nadi until your lungs fills with maximum air. • Now hold your breath for some time or as per your capacity. • Breathe out (exhale ) slowly through right nadi.(Exhalation should be longer than the inhalation ) • Repeat this process around 10 times. ✅BENEFITS: • Helpful in reduces the body heat. • Useful in heart burning problems. • Gives the refreshment to the body and mind and kicked out the feeling of laziness. • Very effective in High blood pressure. • Useful in fever. • Decrease the flow of gall. • Mind becomes steady by the daily practice of this Pranayama. • Useful in reducing the tension, stress and other mental problems. Frankly I have never seriously worked on Handstand from when I started Yoga. I don’t target any pose and work towards it till I achieve that. My style of yoga practice will always be towards entire body without targeting one asana at a time. Handstands are always on and off during my practice. So planning to practice daily for next 20days.
