Cabaret progress check! Grinding out rep after rep at the gym for months/years can feel like being caught in some kind of dystopian barbell groundhog day. Gym selfies don’t cut it, progress shots only work when you’re not going backwards, which for me is 90% of the time. Kels and I spice it up and put my ornamental muscles to some use by doing periodic “do you even lift bro” checks. I played soccer for 18+ years growing up. Even when I stopped playing, running always brought me back and made me feel like the athlete I used to be. I felt like myself, and I loved the feeling of freedom that I got when running. Throw in 3 dislocated knees, an asthma diagnosis, weight gain, and more — I got away from who I used to be. Add shin splints into the mix and I gave up 1.5 months ago. It’s a SLOW mile, but hey, I shaved 2 seconds off my time from yesterday, and it’s day 2 with no shin splints when running. It’s only going up from here! Ich gehe wenn ich fertig bin, nicht wenn ich keine Lust mehr habe. . Mein Training ist erst beendet, wenn der letzte Satz der letzten Übung des Trainingsplanes in mein Logbuch eingetragen wurde. Vorher wird das Studio nicht verlassen. . Wenn ich einfach rein nach Gefühl trainieren würde, würden wahrscheinlich 50% meiner Einheiten wesentlich kürzer ausfallen und ich würde die ein oder andere Übung einfach auslassen. Aber durch einen festen Plan und das stetige Dokumentieren der Einheiten, weiß ich genau, dass ich nicht einfach gehen kann wann ich will, sondern erst wenn ich die letzte Einheit getoppt habe. . Beständigkeit. . Wenn man in etwas Erfolg haben will, muss man sich der Sache verschreiben. Man kann nicht erwarten anzufangen und direkt Erfolge zu erzielen, für die andere Jahre gebraucht haben. . Es genügt nicht sich ein paar mal ins Fitnessstudio zu schleppen, dreimal Salat gegessen und vier Proteinshakes getrunken zu haben, wenn man ernsthafte Veränderungen an seinem Körper erkennen will. Mein Geld verdreifacht sich ja schließlich auch nicht von heute auf morgen, wenn ich in einen Aktienfond investiere. Hi all! I know I’ve been MIA on here all weekend 😅 Between getting my period, cramps, and just feeling down overall I needed a little break from working out and posting! I didn’t film today because I just wanted to focus on my workout and not worry about filming anything...so all you guys get is this selfie 😂 • • Yesterday I started Peloton’s marathon training program—not with the intention of running a marathon (pretty sure they’re all cancelled for the foreseeable future anyway ), but because I thriiiiive in routines, schedules, and specific programming. Yesterday was a 30 minute tempo run and I may or may not have thrown up mid-run. Excited to see how the rest of the program goes! Have any of you guys run a marathon?! I’ve run one half marathon and a couple of 10ks.
