Some cold hard truth for y’all since it seemed like y’all didn’t know exactly what HIIT was from a poll on my story A super popular form of exercise People do it because it's a way to get in a workout that will boost your cardiorespiratory fitness in a short amount of time - it's a work interval followed by a rest interval for rounds But people often aren't actually doing HIIT WHAT?! Yes. Those IG workouts? Not HIIT If there are freaking dead bugs in a HIIT workout - it's not a HIIT workout Let's break it down "HIIT" itself should tell you what it is High intensity - this is self explanatory. Intensity is usually relative to our body's energy systems and what energy system is being predominantly used at that time When we operate at our high intensity, we are recruiting our ATP-PCr system which is responsible for max power and speed up to 10 seconds max. Once the ATP-PCr system is depleted, our body will switch over into fast glycolysis, which usually occurs after than 8-10 second mark Ever tried sprinting full out for more than 10 seconds? It sucks. That's the ATP-PCr system burning out on you SO if you're truly doing a workout at high intensity, you shouldn't be able to go for more than 10-15 seconds - hint: if your HIIT workout's work intervals are longer than 20 seconds, you're probably not in that high intensity range anymore Okay now let's look at the intervals for rest Since the ATP-PCr system is so explosive and quick, it needs time to recover and replenish. It takes a minimum of 2 minutes of recover, up to 5 minutes. If you're truly working at a high intensity, you need this longer rest interval, otherwise you won't be able to work at your true high intensity. I have nothing against the types of workouts that you do if it gets you moving but please label your workouts correctly.

While I’m training low volume, I’m trying to get the most bang for my buck, and thoroughly annihilate the day’s muscle group of choice with as little output as I can. It’s Monday, which can only mean leg day! We train legs on Monday because it’s typically the hardest session- knock it out and say WHATSUP?! to your week 😎. I utilized rest pause quite a bit today. Always remember that rep ranges are just a guideline- listen to your body, turn off the voice in your mind saying ‘stop’, and push past the pain 🤟. There are a lot of choices you'll make this year. But what if you could boil down the fate of your year to a single choice? A choice that few people are ever even conscious they're making. First, here's a surprising fact... It's been said roughly 90% of people who lose weight, fail to keep it off. While there’s some debate on the “real” number, it does paint a less than optimistic picture. How does that feel to hear most people fail to actually KEEP weight off? But what about the flip side? What about the 10% of people, like my clients, who DO keep the weight off? You see, one could dwell on the 90%... Or you can choose to focus on the exceptions and ask yourself what the successful 10% do differently. And that boils down to this major choice that affects every area of life. The choice between "what's typical" vs "what's possible." If you base your life off of what's typical, what will you have? Well, most marriages end in divorce. Most people are struggling financially. And of course most people fail to get and stay in great shape. But if you base your life off of what's possible... You have a chance at greatness. It will come with greater challenges. Greater adversity. Greater pain in the short-term. But in the long-term, you could have a life others dream of. You'll be the exception. You'll be a role model for others to aspire to. You'll be the one that people look to when they ask, "What are we truly capable of as human beings?" I believe the ultimate reason my clients lose weight and keep it off is they simply made ONE choice. They chose to focus on what's possible. They asked, "Who HAS succeeded at these things, even though some others fail, and what can I learn from them?" In doing so, they found a mentor who could guide them. Who showed them the secrets. Not lifting heavy for 3 months has destroyed all my stability. I don’t workout to be a fit chick, to compete in anything, and I’m not trying to hit PRs. I workout because I have to. . . My ligaments can’t hold my joints in place. Resulting in multiple joints needing muscle to help stabilize it. Not working out = no stabilization. At this point, both hips are sublaxing a minimum of 4-5 times a day. Some days my joints feel awesome, and others I can barely move. But it is what it is🤷🏻‍♀️Just glad the gyms reopened and I can get back to how I was moving 6 months ago.

Abductors 3x15 . 5️⃣GLUTE CIRCUIT 3 ROUNDS 12 REPS EACH -resistance band or no resistance band, up to you. - a. Regular stance hip thrusts b. Wide stance toes out c. Close stance . If you choose a resistance band, push those knees out the whole time to keep that tension. Your booty will burn, but worth it! . Strong is the new pretty - I highly recommend prioritizing strength goals when starting or continuing your fitness journey. Although body composition changes are what most people train for, the unfortunate truth is we will feel differently about our body from day to day. Since we live in a world full of comparison and deceive when scrolling through social media and viewing other individuals bodies, it’s easy to be hard on ourselves. - What is set in stone is the 10lbs you increased on squat, 3 extra pull ups you did or 20lbs on hip thrust.
