Personal fitness journey update 🤗 I have not shared one of these in a while. The last year has been busy adjusting to a new work schedule, growing my online business, + covid hitting, and other ups and downs, so I really wasn’t as focused on my nutrition or following a plan in the gym consistently. I was happy if I got in a workout here and there. And hey... THATS OK! Off seasons are necessary. Balance is necessary 💯 I’m finally at a point now where I’m ready for a new challenge! I love seeing what the body is capable of. About a month ago I started buckling down on my training & nutrition in order to start prepping for my first NPC bikini show! This is the first time I will be in a longer term cutting phase in years. I’ve spent the last 4 years or so maintaining or bulking while focusing on/competing in powerlifting/weightlifting. To be honest, I was REALLY scared of the bodybuilding world for a long time since I have struggled with binge eating in the past. I have maintained a good balance with my diet for the last few years which has gotten me to this point, and I am able to identify what triggers those binges. I have had to make sure to develop a good relationship with my body where it is now. It’s always been a goal of mine to compete at least once; I’m embracing this challenge rather than being afraid, because God has only ever helped me get through any challenge in my life. So here’s to a new chapter in the journey and a new experience! 🖤 Smile more, worry less 🖤 . I’m missing the gym a tonn right now. My 4 day weekend had 1 workout day before I got quarantined 😭 I’m missing out on my fave lifting day 🥺 no humpday vibes for dis chica 🍑🚫 . I totally had a moment of regret & panic that I should’ve lifted over the holiday & now would ruin all my progress since I’m stuck at home & blah blah blahhh. . The thing is though...it was a holiday. One I hadn’t celebrated in YEARS! I’m HUMAN. I’m allowed to have days off. I got all my steps in at least (ayooo😌 ) And the fact I was exposed is what it isss & testing/precautions are 💯 necessary. This goes out to all of you too! We are living through a pandemic that MUST be taken seriously. Please don’t be hard on yourself! 💜 . New leg day workout😂😴🚴‍♀️ . Now that the rain finally let up, we took our new wheels out for a spin tonight. We had to take extra loops around the neighborhood because the kids didn't want to stop riding. . We had been saying we wanted to get bikes for the last 5 years and just never did it. Finally decided we'd do it right in the middle of the pandemic when everyone else bought bikes too and all stores were empty🤦‍♀️ . Took us about two months to finally find some, but we did it. I see lots of bike days (and sore/strong legs ) in our future🥰💪 . Are you a fan of bike riding? 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️
