TERMINAL KNEE EXTENSIONS. SWIPE ⬅️ TO SEE DIFFERENT ANGLE. . . Looking for an effective way to help strengthen those knees for long term durability? Then check this exercise out. All you need is a light resistance band and a secure structure to wrap it around. . . Terminal Knee Extensions (TKE ): Wrap a resistance band around a secure structure and place one leg inside. From here, have that band right above the knee (on the hamstring ). Step back until the band is full stretched. Now from here, the opposite foot is fully flat with the foot from the working leg balancing on the balls of the feet (heels up ). Begin by extending the foot back to the point where the heel touches the floor and your quads are fully flexed. Bring it back to the minimal flexion (heels back up ) to come complete the rep. Repeat for a total of 20 reps. Aim to do 3 sets total for each leg. . . Feel free to add this in as a warm up as well for your LEG DAYS.

NO PROBLEM💥⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Follow @kurtrawlinsfitness for 🔑 fitness and nutrition tips⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I’ve received a few questions on how to train with bad knees - so I figured I’d address it here.⁣ ⁣ First off, if you have a minor knee issue that will be resolved in a short period of time, consider that a good time to focus on your upper body. Make lemonade out of lemons, if you will. It certainly doesn’t mean you need to stop training.⁣ ⁣ Moreover, there are typically still several lower body exercises you can incorporate with knee issues. That being said, any type of knee pain or injury will be different and react differently to different exercises.⁣ ⁣ *Please understand if you have a severe injury or are in severe pain, you should see a doctor to get it checked out. Physical therapy may be your best bet.*⁣ ⁣ As a general rule, if you don’t have to bend your knees too much, you’re not going to experience as much pain. That’s why Romanian deadlifts and sled pushes can be excellent choices.⁣ ⁣ It’s also a good idea to strengthen your core and glutes for stability. Remember to train all areas, including the front and side of your abs as well as your glutes and the side of your hips.⁣ ⁣ Terminal knee extensions can be very beneficial for the knees as often times it is the end range (terminal ) or the top of a squat or lunge that is weak. Strengthening to a full lockout with muscle tension (not hanging on the joint structures or ligaments ) is a great way to stabilize and strengthen the knees.⁣ ⁣ If you have any more questions, please post them below.⁣ ⁣ To reiterate, I am not a doctor or physical therapist.
