Welp - “work” from home is over for this girl! 😋 - I get to go back to school tomorrow (YAY )!!! Quarantine has been full of ups and downs, but I am so excited to get back to it! Hip Thrusts🍑 I’m going to get straight to the point. Over the last couple of weeks I have seen some ‘influencers’ promoting workouts and exercises (which is awesome ) in particular hip thrusts (again awesome ). What’s not so awesome is some of the execution. So here we go, let’s have a look at what to avoid and how to execute the hip thrust movement properly. Video 1: What to avoid. So first things first, the hip thrust is meant to target your whole lower body, in particular the glutes. It’s classed as a hinge movement, like a deadlift. What we don’t want to do is bend through the back. Weight or no weight, this will put a great amount of pressure on your spine. What you’ll see in the first video is the movement coming through my back with my shoulders staying planted on the bench. In this video my glutes and legs are doing very little in the movement. Video 2: Hip thrusting with better movement. Here you will see that I bend at my hips (the hinge ). Rather than my back staying flat on the bench, it moves with the rest of my body keeping my back flat and my core engaged. The dip of the hips and drive upward takes the pressure away from my spine and allows the glutes and legs to do the work for the movement. The hip thrust is an massive compound exercise that can be very beneficial for any kind of athlete, bodybuilder, crossfitter, powerlifter really anyone that is exercising. Just remember how important it is to move correctly, with or without added weight. #glutework #hipthrust #compoundexercise

𝙂𝙮𝙢 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 • Hoy miércoles he empezado el plan de entrenamiento de la semana😅 mejor tarde que nunca😝 ¿Cómo lleváis la semana vosotros?💪🏻 • Hoy le he dado a las dominadas que entre que peso más y perdí fuerza me cuestan mogollón 🥵 y un poco de peso muerto, hip thrust y tampoco mucho volumen de entrenamiento porque al revés de la mayoría no quiero ganar más músculo en ninguna parte de mi cuerpo pero al mismo tiempo quiero seguir entrenando por mi salud y porque me gusta❤️ y eso también es algo complicado😅 • ¡Ah!
