Body Update 💫 Iso got me good... but back training the way I like to has been so good for me mentally and physically!! This is me, currently now, and FULL. Bikini competitors don’t need to be lean while not in prep, and we’re often judged for not looking “comp lean” like what people see on Instagram. I’m a couple kgs up from my stage weight, but this means nothing to me without actually knowing my actual body fat % And I don’t need to know this until I am actually In prep. For now, I am training HARD, and following calories to suit my building phase! I’ve really been enjoying my thicker self, because I know under all the fluff there’s some work that progress that’s been made!

Why you aren’t gaining/losing weight 👇🏼 While it’s hard to pinpoint exactly why someone isn’t seeing the results they want (because factors like sleep and workouts matter too ), people largely struggle to lose or gain weight because they’re either not in a caloric surplus or deficit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Caloric surplus = eating above your maintenance calories (however many cals it takes to neither gain nor lose weight ), or consuming more calories than you burn in a day. While it won’t hinder your progress to eat in a surplus on a cheat day or if you fall off track for a little, over time you will gain weight in a surplus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Caloric deficit = eating below your maintenance calories, or consuming fewer calories than you burn in a day to lose weight. Deficits are tricky because if you suddenly start eating a lot less at once, you’ll see quick results but you’ll find that it’s not sustainable to continue to drop your calories...not to mention you’ll suffer from being hungry. It’s best to ease into a small deficit over time. It’s important to keep in mind that you burn more cals than you think (like calories burned at rest ), so it’s not necessary to overly restrict yourself when it comes to choosing a deficit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is SO much more to surpluses, deficits, tracking your macros, but I wouldn’t be able to fit it into a caption lol-YouTube, journals, and books have helped me a lot🙌🏼 educating yourself before doing any damage to your body is 100% worth the time ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hope this helps❤️

You have no idea how hard I have worked for this physique. . Day in and day out I work. I count calories. I go to the gym and train hard. Yes, I have cheat meals and sometimes miss training sessions when I’m not prepping for a show. But I have made this my lifestyle and work so hard for what I have. And I still have so much room for improvements. . There is no place for entitlement when it comes to changing your physique. You either work for it or you don’t. You either see results or you don’t. That’s what I love about it... no cheating the system, doesn’t matter how much money you have or where you came from, all it takes is hard work and discipline. . No one was born with it. Some might have better genetics than others. But no one just doesn’t have to work hard and sacrifice some things in order to see results. . Next time you want to complain about your physique or the lack of results you’re seeing, be honest with yourself. Have you actually worked for it? Have you followed your plan? Do you push it hard at the gym or do you give 50%? Do you quit cardio 5 minutes before your time is up because it’s “good enough”? . Get with a good coach, communicate with them when you’re struggling, and follow their plan. You will see results, I promise ❤️ . 🌻What I eat on rest days?¿🌻⠀ ⠀ I DO NOT change my intake on a rest day compared to a training day because your body needs fuel either way. Happy Saturday! ✨ I hope everyone has had an amazing week and smashed their goals! 💪🏼🔥 . For a bit there my motivation was slipping this week, but I pulled myself together and was able to get myself through my workouts both yesterday and today even though I reallyyyy didn’t want to 🙈 .
