Which is better for you - 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗗 or 𝗥𝗔𝗪 vegetables?👩🏼‍🍳⁠ ⁠ Contrary to popular belief, cooking causes much less nutrient loss than you think, and can even make some foods more nutritious.⁠ ⁠ EXAMPLE 1: 𝙎𝙋𝙄𝙉𝘼𝘾𝙃 🥗⁠ Cooking reduces oxalates, which can prevent mineral absorption, so minerals like iron and calcium are better absorbed through cooked spinach than through raw. Happy Thursday everyone🙌🏼its nearly Friday🥳 these are my Thursday thoughts... Yesterday was my dads 40TH birthday. Food is a massive part of my household, so of course we celebrated with food🍔 I went out for the 1st time in over 4 months to a restaurant (easy to say it was a strange situation🤯 ) - yet they had excellent safety precautions so we decided it was worth a shot🤩 Ik sometimes we are hard on ourselves to not eat rubbish and often feel guilty once we have - I can definitely say this effects me. And all too often I feel guilt after I eat something I “shouldn’t” and think of ways to “make it better”. 😐 But i have learnt that we must live our lives and try not to restrict ourselves so much that we become obsessive and put ourselves down - so I DID NOT HOLD BACK🥳 I had a burger, wings, bacon fries, lemonade and birthday cake, all on top of my breakfast and lunch and it was DELICIOUS😋🤪 It can be hard to not feel guilt with today’s society and with instagram presenting us with the “perfect lives” and “perfect body’s” and we put ourselves down. But we all need to know that we are individuals and are all perfect and beautiful and everything is fine in moderation. I gave this incredible 61yo mom and grandma a shout out a few weeks ago after she had finished her first week of the most advanced, most challenging program in our streaming library, and now 6 weeks later, I’m doing it again because she totally NAILED it! 🧨 Just to give you an idea of how hard this program is, the final workout is called the CRUCIBLE and involves doing 100 reps of 8 different moves—diamond push ups, jump lunges, burpees with a pushup, Arnold Palmers, sprinter hops, jump goblet squats, T-plank rows, and alternating floor presses.😳😲 🧨 Not only was she fully committed to her exercise, she also stuck to her nutrition plan and ended up losing 9 pounds and 6 inches! She feels so much stronger now, stronger than she ever has, and has found that jumping into my exclusive test group for our new 21 day cross fit training program has been no problem for her! 🧨 It’s seeing women see results like this that make my job so amazing because they inspire me every day! Today my test group did day 3/21, an upper body workout that left us all with jelly arms in just 30 minutes! Loving this program and am excited to share our results! I’m sure I speak for us all when I say the past 4 months have been some of the most bizarre, uncertain, surreal months of our lives... — I’m also sure like me, you’ve learnt a million lessons, new things about yourself and different views and aspects of life and become closer in relationships. — The future is still uncertain however I feel optimistic. Do you want to eat more and reach your fitness goals!?! I’ve commonly been getting messages from girls who have seen how I had to eat over 6000 calories in my recovery and how I still eat above 4000 each day and they don’t think that THEY can. They think they never got underweight or restricted enough for that to happen. They think their metabolism isn’t working due. IT IS WORKING. Slowing down is it adapting. It will adapt to more. Your metabolism is going to increase when you eat more food. Your body starts to recover and there is lots to heal even with a past of dieting or under-eating without realizing. Even if you don’t have a past of restriction or deprivation, when you add more food your metabolism will increase. Maybe it won’t have to be as high of an intake as it was for me, yet it will be the highest it ever has been for YOU. Who doesn’t want to eat more and reach their fitness goals!? By increasing food each week your metabolism is going to regulate because OUR BODIES WANT TO MAINTAIN HOMEOSTASIS. As soon as you give yourself more energy, you are automatically going to be expending more energy. We burn more just by eating, repair, movement, muscle mass, digestion, etc. Please don’t fear food, you are not going to gain a ton of fat. You’ll have energy that will help you be strong, happy, healthy, and full of energy to be YOUR TRUE SELF & LOVE FITNESS It’s the same thing if we restrict.
