* * “It does not matter how weak you are—how strong the enemy may seem, either in number or in power. Do not be discouraged. The help you have from Heaven is more powerful than all that Hell can send to destroy the grace of God in your soul. God, the Creator and the Redeemer, is Almighty and more desirous of your salvation than the devil can be of your destruction. “Fight courageously, then, and do not neglect to mortify yourself. Continual war on your inordinate inclinations and vicious habits will gain the victory, acquire the kingdom of Heaven, and unite your soul to God forever.” * * * - Brief Excerpts From “The Spiritual Combat” by Dom Lorenzo Scupoli #catholic #catholicchurch #Love #LoveGod #foundedbyChrist #JesusisGod #JesusisKingofAll #prayerinspiration #catholicquotes #scupoli #holiness #Faith #Love #Mercy #Hope #catholicmemes #catholicworld #catholicthought #SpiritualWarfare #romancatholicchurch #catholicfaith #catolico #catholiclife #catholicfamily #catholic_church #Truth #lambofGod #catholicism

The Gift of Knowledge The gift of Knowledge enables the soul to evaluate created things at their true worth--in their relation to God. Knowledge unmasks the pretense of creatures, reveals their emptiness, and points out their only true purpose as instruments in the service of God. It shows us the loving care of God even in adversity, and directs us to glorify Him in every circumstance of life. Guided by its light, we put first things first, and prize the friendship of God beyond all else. "Knowledge is a fountain of life to him that possesseth it." Prayer - Come, O Blessed Spirit of Knowledge, and grant that I may perceive the will of the Father; show me the nothingness of earthly things, that I may realize their vanity and use them only for Thy glory and my own salvation, looking ever beyond them to Thee, and Thy eternal rewards. Amen. Image source: Catholic Philly Meditation from Fr. There’s been a lot of hate out there. If you want to learn about what others believe ask, don’t just keep throwing out the same accusations. Learn about the history of the church and don’t be afraid to change what you believe because you found out it was false. . And when we are out there defending the faith, stay strong and pray strong. We will receive hate. We will feel anger and sadness. But God can use us to change lives. Above all, do all things in love. - Kaitlyn 💕

This Sunday we heard how Jesus called the disciples to action. Our lives shouldn’t be defined by passive expectation of eternal life through faith alone, but rather through diligent dedication to how Jesus tells us to live. If this science about lifestyle were known then, what would Jesus have said? Our lifestyles are killing us prematurely! Many will point figures at someone else’s lifestyle. Many claim to have a healthy lifestyle. Yet, many of us will die from preventable causes. There will be 900,000 + premature deaths this year in the US alone. What would Jesus say? I think he would tell us that our lifestyles, what we eat, how we move, the toxins we consume, how we stress, and our lack of spiritual connections are pulling us away from God. We have been given the gift of life through our bodies. How do we show our gratitude for this gift? This statistic from the American of Lifestyle Medicine would suggests very poorly. Isn’t it time for a change? Isn’t time to ask a doctor if you are living healthfully? Isn’t it time for the humility to learn how to live healthier? Come visit me at CatholicWell.com. I can help. Happy Lifestyle Medicine week! Lord, I pray that we all can find humility in asking how we can live a life that shows God how thankful we are for our bodies and minds. Piety heals our heart of all types of hardness and allows it to be tender in relation to God and to our brothers and sisters. Many times I thought that being pious meant praying like the ladies that I saw praying in church as a young girl. But, in so far as a gift of the Holy Spirit, it implies that we put ourselves in the shoes of another, to feel like he or she does. Here, we must ask, how can I feel what God himself feels? Well, by trying to love him! And how can you love him more? By loving others in the little things: by sharing a word of encouragement, by stepping outside of your comfort zone to help another, by no longer looking to prove that you are always right and the other wrong, etc. This is the path of love through which piety guides us. The gift of Piety begets in our hearts a filial affection for God as our most loving Father. It inspires us to love and respect for His sake persons and things consecrated to Him, as well as those who are vested with His authority, His Blessed Mother and the Saints, the Church and its visible Head, our parents and superiors, our country and its rulers. He who is filled with the gift of Piety finds the practice of his religion, not a burdensome duty, but a delightful service. Where there is love, there is no labor. Come, O Blessed Spirit of Piety, possess my heart. Enkindle therein such a love for God, that I may find satisfaction only in His service, and for His sake lovingly submit to all legitimate authority. Amen. Gifts of the Holy Spirit - Fear The gift of Fear fills us with a sovereign respect for God, and makes us dread nothing so much as to offend Him by sin. It is a fear that arises, not from the thought of hell, but from sentiments of reverence and filial submission to our heavenly Father. It is the fear that is the beginning of wisdom, detaching us from worldly pleasures that could in any way separate us from God. “They that fear the Lord will prepare their hearts, and in His sight will sanctify their souls.” Come, O blessed Spirit of Holy Fear, penetrate my inmost heart, that I may set Thee, my Lord and God, before my face forever; help me to shun all things that can offend Thee, and make me worthy to appear before the pure eyes of Thy Divine Majesty in heaven, where Thou livest and reignest in the unity of the ever Blessed Trinity, God world without end. Amen. Image source: Catholic Link Meditation from Fr. HOLY GHOST/HOLY SPIRIT. The third person of the Holy Trinity, who is distinct from the Father and the Son but one in being, coequal, and coeternal with them, because, like them, he is in the fullest sense God. The Holy Spirit proceeds not only from the Father but also from the Son as from a single principle, through what is called a single spiration. He is the personal infinite term of the eternal act of mutual love of the Father and the Son; hence his name of Spirit, as the issue or term of God's eternal love or act of will. He is also called the Spirit of Truth, the Creator Spirit, the Sanctifier, as the gifts of revelation, of creation (and re-creation ), and of sanctification are the outpourings of God's love, and therefore appropriated to the Spirit of Love, though whatever God does outside the Trinity (in the world of creatures ) belongs to the common or united action of the three divine persons. He is called Dove, because it was in this form that he descended visibly upon Christ in the Jordan (Mark 1:10 ). - source: Modern Catholic Dictionary by Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. Scriptural passages on Holy Spirit: Genesis 1:1—2 Genesis 2:7 Exodus 19:16-19 Exodus 37:1-14 Luke 1:26-35 John 14:14-17 John 20:21-23 #catholic #catholicchurch #Love #LoveGod #foundedbyChrist #JesusisGod #JesusisKingofAll #prayerinspiration #catholicquotes #respectlife #prayforus #holiness #Faith #Love #Mercy #Hope #catholicmemes #catholicworld #catholicthought #SpiritualWarfare #romancatholicchurch #catholicfaith #catolico #catholiclife #catholicfamily #catholic_church #Truth #lambofGod #catholicism

🕊 Matthew 28:20 “... And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” 🕊 See also Jn. 6. From the Catechism of the Catholic Church: 1381 “That in this sacrament are the true Body of Christ and his true Blood is something that ‘cannot be apprehended by the senses,’ says St. Thomas, ‘but only by faith, which relies on divine authority.’ For this reason, in a commentary on Luke 22:19 (‘This is my body which is given for you.’ ), St. Cyril says: ‘Do not doubt whether this is true, but rather receive the words of the Savior in faith, for since he is the truth, he cannot lie.’” God is truth 215 “The sum of your word is truth; and every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.”30 “And now, O LORD God, you are God, and your words are true;”31 this is why God’s promises always come true.32 God is Truth itself, whose words cannot deceive. This is why one can abandon oneself in full trust to the truth and faithfulness of his word in all truth in all things. The beginning of sin and of man’s fall was due to a lie of the tempter who induced doubt of God’s word, kindness, and faithfulness. 156 What moves us to believe is not the fact that revealed truths appear as true and intelligible in the light of our natural reason: we believe “because of the authority of God himself who reveals them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.” "Godhead here in hiding, whom I do adore Masked by these bare shadows, shape and nothing more, See, Lord, at thy service low lies here a heart Lost, all lost in wonder at the God thou art. Seeing, touching, tasting are in thee deceived; How says trusty hearing? that shall be believed; What God’s Son has told me, take for truth I do; Truth himself speaks truly or there’s nothing true." - St. Thomas Aquinas (attr. ), Adoro te devote; tr.
