Stability & Balance... anyone who’s had a session with me knows I love getting my clients to balance on one leg or on the @bosu_fitness balance ball The quote I posted yesterday about convincing your mind you can do it, is also relevant when it comes to balancing. Not only do you need to convince your mind you can do it, but you also need to focus your mind as concentration is key when it comes to balancing (especially on a Bosu! ) Note how I become more stable as the video progresses: this is honestly because I know that it took a few reps of me thinking about all the other things going on at that moment, for me to actually fully focus my mind. Even then it was still physically challenging but my focused mind really helped me The reason I use a lot of stability and balancing techniques in my sessions is simple; if you are unstable your body has to work harder - more muscles need to be recruited throughout the body, especially the core muscles. Core strength will improve, as well as overall strength, stability and coordination, which in turn will help to ensure other exercises can be carried out correctly. It's been over 4 months now since I've been to the gym and it's not looking likely that I'll be able to go back at all this year. 😭 So I finally caved and got my own BOSU ball! And it's much prettier than the blue one at the gym!😄 I started using this to exercise about 3 months after I started going to the gym, after seeing @kristen .blooms using it. And honestly for a long time I only kept using the bosu ball at the gym because the room with all the equipment is the only place where my gym has good mirrors...and I needed my Instagram gym selfies. 😬🤣 But I've come to love it, and this thing is GREAT for balance! I definitely think the only reason I was able to do stand up paddle boarding and snowboarding was because of all my time spent practicing my balance on a bosu ball!
