If you like the concept of magic and chosen ones, you'll like this one! I want to say so much about this book, but fear to spoil a lot, so let's just say it surprised me in a good way. Full review on #goodreads , link in bio! Many thanks to #HMHBooks for the advance copy of this book #VeronicaRoth#TheChosenOnes #SYNOPSIS • A decade ago near Chicago, five teenagers defeated the otherworldly enemy known as the Dark One, whose reign of terror brought widespread destruction and death. The seemingly un-extraordinary teens—Sloane, Matt, Ines, Albie, and Esther—had been brought together by a clandestine government agency because one of them was fated to be the “Chosen One,” prophesized to save the world. With the goal achieved, humankind celebrated the victors and began to mourn their lost loved ones. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ten years later, though the champions remain celebrities, the world has moved forward and a whole, younger generation doesn’t seem to recall the days of endless fear. But Sloane remembers. It’s impossible for her to forget when the paparazzi haunt her every step just as the Dark One still haunts her dreams. Unlike everyone else, she hasn’t moved on; she’s adrift—no direction, no goals, no purpose. On the eve of the Ten Year Celebration of Peace, a new trauma hits the Chosen: the death of one of their own. And when they gather for the funeral at the enshrined site of their triumph, they discover to their horror that the Dark One’s reign never really ended. • • #bookrecommendation #bookreview #bibliophile #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bookaholic #booklove #booksofinstagram #booklovers #ilovebooks #igbooks #readersofinstagram #bookgram #instareads #bookhoarder #bookishlove #bookshark #bookstabuddies 📚 #lecteursduquebec #canadianbookstagrammer #bookishlovegroup #canadabookstagram #bookishcanadians • • 40/70 #readingchallenge2020 I've read 3/20 books I own in 2020

Despite the challenges of a police cover-up and the celebrity status of the culprit, he refuses to be denied justice. Mini Book Haul! 📚✨ -The Beautiful -The Damned -The Gilded Wolves I had the day off and decided to go to the mall. I had 9 books in hand but decided that perhaps I should narrow it down to 3. And trust me it took a lot of willpower as well as about an hour for me to decide which ones I’d be taking. I started The Beautiful on the way home and so far it’s really great! It’s my first time reading a book by Renee Ahdieh and I’ve already added The Wrath & The Dawn as well as The Rose & The Dagger to my shopping cart, which says a lot! Have you read any of these books and if so what did you think of them? . . . . . #thebeautiful #thedamned #thegildedwolves #reneeahdieh #roshanichokshi #yafantasybooks #yafantasy #yabooks #bibliophile #bookstagram #booklover #booknerd #booksbooksbooks #bookhauls #bookaholic #fantasybooks

QOTD: Do you own any collector’s edition books? AOTD: I own 3 and plan on owning much more. This is definitely my favorite of the 3. Absolutely adore it. It is the most beautiful book I own and the newest one to my collection. I’m so happy I decided to invest on it because The Six of Crows is definitely the best book I have ever read and I’m sure @lbardugo isn’t going to disappoint. THE MESSENGER OF FEAR 💀 MICHAEL GRANT. ⁣ definite trigger warning for this one.⁣ ⁣ I thought it was such a unique concept of good vs evil. ☯️⁣ ⁣ Although spread over two books, I would of love for the book to delve a bit deeper into the relationships of characters. The ending was a bit of a full stop.⁣ ⁣ But i loved reading it. 📖⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I remembered my name – Mara. But, standing in that ghostly place, faced with the solemn young man in the black coat with silver skulls for buttons, I could recall nothing else about myself.⁣ ⁣ And then the games began.⁣ ⁣ The Messenger sees the darkness in young hearts, and the damage it inflicts upon the world. If they go unpunished, he offers the wicked a game. Win, and they can go free. Lose, and they will live out their greatest fear. ⁣ ⁣ But what does any of this have to do with Mara? She is about to find out . . . #michaelgrant #themessengeroffear

🐰 Happy Sunday! 🐰 My finals are approaching so I won’t be able to read much this month. I’ve been getting so many assignments for my tax class and it’s about to take a toll on me so I probably won’t start a new book this month but I’ll keep reading webtoons cuz it’s hard to resist reading a new chapter right after it comes out. Do you like webtoons? Which ones are you currently reading?

Also, in case I forgot to mention it, you all really need to have this book in your life. Crown of Thornes by Author Delaney Foster releases July 28th ♥️ It was AMAZING. I have never met a more arrogant, filthy mouthed, hot as Hades, swoony Prince. But he's not like a regular storybook hero. He's a bit of a dickhead sometimes, but not in the way that makes you question your own morals, he just gets a tad territorial. Then you think, well he plays piano beautifully, he's secretly a sweetheart, he makes fantastic use of the library and he gives GOOD multiple orgasms, so I'm totally okay with him being a bit of an asshole on occasion. Plus he's royalty. It's in their blood to be arrogant. But it's the heroine that realllllly steals the show. Because she is entirely capable of bringing royalty down to their knees. She's confident, independent and an all out badass. She has *gasp* opinions and thoughts of her own which she is okay sharing. Never allowing the Prince to run roughshod over her....unless she wants him to, if ya know what I'm saying. It's a modern day fairytale romance but kinkier. It's exceptionally well written, intense, sweet yet scorching hot and balanced wonderfully with some beautiful romance and a touch of humour. (Review to come. This is just 1.30am ramblings ) @author .delaney.foster #newbook #bookstagram #book #books #booklover #bookworm #reading #author #authorsofinstagram #newbooks #instabook #newrelease #writer #bookish #bookstagrammer #booksofinstagram #bookaddict #writersofinstagram #read #booknerd #readersofinstagram #amazon #newbookalert #bookaholic #newauthor #novel #love #ebook #bibliophile #EmeraldBookReviews

This story was all about a girl named Sophia who moved to London to follow her career goals of being an architect. She left behind her mother Nina and her father Jared who run a little garden cafe from their country house. One night Nina calls Sophia begging her to come home as she always does but Sophia says she can’t and she’ll speak soon. Sophia is enjoying her new life in London far too much to worry about her mother’s constant calls to convince her to come home. The next day Sophia goes to her parents house only to discover a grizzly sight. Her mother is hanging from a tree and her father has been stabbed. The police think it’s a suicide and that somehow Sophia’s father tried to stop her mother and got hurt in the process but Sophia can’t imagine her mother ever doing anything like killing herself nor hurting her father and she wants to get to the bottom of all of it. When she receives a phone call from a man named Max claiming to be a publisher who was prepared and ready to publish a secret book her mother had written, Sophia knows it’s time to try and locate where the manuscript for this book is as she is sure the answer to what happened that night lies in there. She however is not prepared for what she finds out. The book was told through the eyes of Sophia in present time and through the eyes of Nina with her manuscripts for her book back when she was at university. This book was NOT what I was expecting at all. The front cover never gave off the vibe of what I got and I was actually a little annoyed at times. I thought it was along the lines of a mother telling her daughter some family secrets but it was a very different type of story. I found the plot easy to follow and I guessed parts of it ahead of time, but I have to say once it got to like 75% of the book the twists kept coming and I enjoyed the way it finished up the story. It wasn’t my favourite story plot but I would like to read more from the writer as I enjoyed it enough, I just couldn’t like the main character of Nina as I felt she was too gullible and naive, half the things she did and said I would never and I couldn’t help getting annoyed at her from time to time. Giving this a 3 out of 5.

⁣ Book Review! 📖⁣ •⁣ This was defiantly a harder book to read then other true crimes I have read. Mostly for the fact of how everything went down with the case. You can’t not be angry at how the police treated these kids and there wasn’t even enough real evidence linking them, like Wtf. ⁣ •⁣ I did think that Sarah burns did a wonderful job on telling this story though! I think it showcases everything so well, I also hope that things have gotten better and will continue to get better whether the person accused of a crime is black, Hispanic or white as so many times we see missed or lost evidence and the wrong people being convicted or the right one not found. ⁣ •⁣ Thank you @jobis89 for hosting this read along! #readwithjohann ⁣ •⁣ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5⁣ •⁣ #meagjeanreviews ⁣ •⁣ •⁣ •⁣ •⁣ •⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ •⁣⁣⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ •⁣⁣⁣⁣ •⁣⁣⁣⁣ •⁣⁣⁣⁣ #meagjeanreads #bookstagram #igreads #constantreader #booklover #bookstagrammer #instabook #bibliophile #bookaddict #bookphotography #horror #horrorbooks #bookworm #bookish #readersofinstagram #bookaholic#spookybooks #booknerd #bookart #booksofinsta #alwaysreading #booksbooksbooks #bookblog #instaread #goodreads #bookreview #ymmbooks

Virginia Woolf, “A Writer’s Diary” When I began teaching a lot in NYC someone advised me to work on my writing whenever I had free time--even if it was as little as 20 minutes. I knew already that it wouldn’t work for me, but I tried anyway. At first, I only felt frustration and a sense of failure, but eventually I learned to complete (mostly ) shorter pieces on breaks and when the workload wasn’t as heavy. What I couldn’t do is work on larger projects, the kind that would really allow me to explore my experiences and deepen my understanding. That’s the type of work that drew me to writing in the first place, but there seems to be little sympathy for such aspirations in today’s world. It’s comforting to find in Virginia Woolf’s “A Writer’s Diary” not just an affirmation of the things I value most about writing, but also echoes of my own writing process. This kind of writing takes large swathes of uninterrupted time--both for the writing itself and for a sort of meditative reflection that allows the work to come into being. Even if most of us don’t have the luxury of Woolf’s privileged lifestyle, “A Writer’s Diary” is an important antidote to much of the “writing advice” genre, and in general, the pressure to produce and share something every minute of every day. . . . #bookstagram #books #bookblog #bookgram #book #booklove #fiction #literature #womenwriters #bookworm #readersofinstagram #igreads #booklovers #bookaholic #writing #writer #writers #writersofinstagram #writersofIG #amwriting #writinginspiration #writingprocess #writingcommunity #writinglife #writingmotivation #writingcommunityofinstagram #writerscommunity #virginiawoolf #virginiawoolfdiary #bloomsburygroup

There are animal, wild ones, and tame, living and breathing all around you. Right here, right now, YOU are becoming. Isn't it wonderful? ❤❤❤ . . ❤ Value of the story A stunning book about mindfulness, meditation and awareness. Even you are changing and growing in remarkable ways. A good reminder to notice the world around us and to appreciate the here and now. I read this book last year around this time, that was my first book by @taliahibbert and since then I fell in love with her books. Her writing style is wonderful, her characters are never boring like never. I've always looked for interracial couple books and when I found hers it was such a blessing for my soul 🤣😍 you can relate to the characters( at least I did with Ruth Kabbah's ) she doesn't interact with people, well she just doesn't like people🤣 she lives by herself with her comic books. I would highlyyyyyy recommend it, you won't regret it at all. 📚📚 Goodreads synopsis: She's the town pariah. He doesn't give a damn. In Ruth Kabbah's world, comic books are king, silence is golden, and human contact is a pesky distraction. She doesn't like people, which works out just fine, because the people in this small town don't like her. The exception to that rule? Evan Miller, her way - too - charming next-door neighbor. Ex-military man Evan is all tattooed muscle on the outside - and a big, cuddly teddy bear beneath. He's used to coaxing prickly people from their shells, but he's never met a woman quite like Ruth. Blunt, sarcastic, and secretly sad, she's his exact opposite. She's also his deepest desire. Soon, Evan's steady patience and smoldering smiles are melting Ruth's reserve. But when small-town gossip from her past begins to poison her future she's forced to make a choice Should she trust Evan completely Or is her heart safest alone? Please be aware this book contains mentions of intimate partner violence that could trigger certain audiences. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

@dees_bookshelf tagged me in the #3factsaboutme challenge, and I love a fun challenge (if y’all haven’t figured that out yet 🤪 ), so here we go! 🍽🐼✈️ 3 fun facts about me: 1. (Pic 1 ) I used to be a super picky eater as a child and teenager. Like picking chives out of my baked potato for 15 minutes while my family finished their entire meals, picky. Took that meal to go that night. Butttt, now I love trying new things, and have found that I love a lot of foods. Except for a good amount of fruits...don’t came at me @mommysreads 2. (pic 2 ) I’ve been obsessed with pandas since I saw The Great Panda Adventure when I was about 11 years old. I swear I will make it to China one day and visit the Panda’s at Chengdu 😍 I have seen them at the San Diego and Washington zoos, but I want to physically pet one! ❤️ 3. (Pic 3 ) I love to travel with my family. We have moved cross country a few times now, and drive to almost all of our vacations. The longest non stop driving we’ve done so far was from Maine to Texas...32 hours in the truck with two kids. They are troopers, I tell you. Inspired by Oprah and in support of #blackoutbestsellerlist where readers were encouraged to buy two books written by authors of African origin, here is a contribution from #suitcasetobookcase . Currently I am listening to the #audiobook of pulitzerprize winning, #thecolorpurple by @_alice_walker and my 11 years old is in splits while listening to #bornacrime by @trevornoah (which BTW he swears is equally poignant and uproariously funny! ) I don’t know much about apartheid in South Africa so it’s certainly going to be my next listen. This photograph is inspired by one of my all time favourite TV shows ‘Anne With An E’ which is the latest adaptation of ‘Anne of Green Gables’. It is a grittier and more accurate portrayal of the era in Canadian History than its previous adaptations and is one that moves me so profoundly upon each viewing. I’ve gotten really into Myers Briggs personality types lately and as this account is about books and their characters, I thought for fun I’d match up some literary heroines for each personality type: ———— • INFP: Anne Shirley. Eilis Lacey, Brooklyn ( altruistic, ambitious, imaginative, romantic ) • ENFP: Natasha Rostova, War and Peace ( Creative, Versatile, perceptive, imaginative ) • INFJ: Francie Nolan, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Jane Eyre ( Committed, creative, determined, idealistic ) • ENFJ: Anna Karenina ( Loyal, verbal, energetic, congenial ) • INTJ: Katniss Everdeen ( independent, visionary, original, global ) • ENTJ: Emma Woodhouse ( logical, strategic, fair, straightforward ) • INTP: Violet Baudelaire, Portia (independent, theoretical, analytical, reserved ) • ENTP: Elizabeth Bennet ( enterprising, outspoken, challenging, resourceful ) •ESFP: Amy March, Little Women ( enthusiastic, friendly, cooperative, tolerant ) • ESTP: Scarlet O’ Hara ( activity-orientated, versatile, pragmatic, outgoing ) • ESFJ: Margaret Hale, North and South ( thorough, responsible, detailed, traditional ) • ESTJ: Hermione Granger ( logical, systematic, organized, conscientious ) • ISTP: Nancy Drew ( logical, realistic, adventurous, self-determined ) • ISFJ: Meg March ( Detailed, traditional, service-minded, devoted ) • ISTJ: Elinor Dashwood ( factual, practical, organized, steadfast ) • ISFP: Claire Fraser ( caring, adaptable, gentle, harmonious ) ———— Which literary Heroine is most relatable to you? *Also I find it hilarious how INFJ’s are the rarest personality type and yet 90% of bookstagrammers are them😂

A primeira parte é extremamente arrastada.

"...we were looking at the same sky together, which is maybe even more intimate than eye contact anyway. I mean, anybody can look at you. It's quite rare to find someone who sees the same world you see." - Turtles all the way down, John Green . . I remember reading this book in December 2017. It was a gift from my boyfriend. And after reading it, every time when we would kiss, I would tell him about the bacterias 😂 it was so much fun. . It always fascinated me how I could be completely in somebody else's head while I'm reading and I couldn't care less about what was happening around me. Like living a whole new life. . Obviously I liked the book and the spiraling thoughts of Aza did keep me occupied for a really long time. But the immediate intimacy and heartfelt stories of young adults in books make me hold onto my stories. It gives me hope. . . . . . . . . . . . #johngreen #turtlesallthewaydown #bookstagram #theb00kstagram #booklover #bookworm #bookphoto #bookgram #bookobsessed #booknerd #bibliophile #bookaddict #bookaholic #bookish #ilovereading #ilovebooks #bookrecommendation #bookstagramindia #bookstagramindiafeature #bookishbong #magicofbookstagram
