I mean I kinda feel like all I’ve posted in the last few days is these, but that’s okay right? 🤣 I accidentally messed up some of the colors on one of the previous illustrations I had printed, and before sending the corrected version to the print shop I decided to finish up the next one so I could have that printed too! Allll three of these (you can swipe to see the other two again ) will be available on my shop soon, both individually and all together as a bundle! And like I said on my story, I promise to keep expanding this series—Please don’t be offended or feel excluded if you don’t see your specific medical condition/features up on these—there are thousands upon thousands of things I could draw, and I am just one human who also has a million other things to do and limits of my own💛 love you all, my beautiful munchkins! • • • • #positivity #positiveaffirmations #positiveaffirmation #attitude #positivequotes #positivevibes #letteringdaily #letteringchallenge #typegang #handdrawntype #handdrawnletters #letteringart #letteringpractice #motivationalquotes #mentalhealthawareness #progress #fridayvibes #letteringquotes #thosenights #everybody #bikinibody #kindnessisfree #bodysuit #bodylove #bodypositivity #bodypositive #womenofillustration

I think about my body beliefs like I do about politics. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know people believe differently than me. I know people have different values and opinions about bodies (just like w politics ). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I have done the work to curate and craft MY values and beliefs, and I hold onto them tightly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I choose what I know as the truth: a. that all bodies are good bodies b. that we're all meant to come in different shapes and sizes c. that set point weigh theory is LEGIT d. that sustained weight loss is not possible and very harmful e. that health is NOT a size f. that we cannot determine someone's health by looking at them g. ***that we don't have to have health to deserve respect and love.*** h. that who we are as HUMANS matters much more than what we look like I. that we are all inherently equal, created by a higher power, we are all connected and one j. that human worth comes from being born, not from looking a certain way or performing in a certain way ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If someone is judging me based on my body/my looks... it means their beliefs don't align with mine. It means their body beliefs are based in fat phobia, which is rooted in racism (refer to Dr Sabrina Strings’ book Fearing the Black Body ). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If someone is judging me based on my body/my looks... it means they think that how I look matters more than who I am. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If someone is judging me based on my body/my looks... honestly? It's on them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I refuse to let someone else's limited beliefs dictate how I live my life, or god forbid.... how I feel about myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But this takes work. I know it does. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Need help getting there? Then join @holly_toronto_coaching and my free 5 day come home to yourself journey that starts Monday July 6! My soul-sister/colleague/Homecoming Coach, @holly_toronto_coaching tells this powerful story of how some @$$hole from a prestigious fitness brand told one of her clients that in order to work for the company, her body needed to be as aspirational as possible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Essentially what this means is that in order to access resources, privileges, happiness, success...she must look the part. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The deeply problematic and racist implications of this type of thinking disgusts me (I’ll refer you to @iamchrissyking for more information on how racism shows up in the fitness world and Dr. Sabrina String’s book “Fearing the Black Body” for more on how this thin ideal has racist roots ). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But here’s what happened. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She went on a diet and got down to her lowest weight ever. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Her pursuit backfired (as 98% of diets do ) and her sense of self worth shattered when the weight came back on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She still didn't get the role at this company. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But her story doesn’t stop there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This client showed up with such powerful commitment to deconditioning herself from these toxic beauty messages. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She's restored equilibrium in her body by eating ENOUGH food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ AND she's rebuilt her self worth on a rock solid foundation that doesn't require external validation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All of this has led her to pursue her passion for acting again. A passion that she had previously given up on because of all of this messy body image stuff. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have a word for this in my coaching practice. Homecoming. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The opportunity for you to embody your own self-expression outside of society’s expectations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Her body doesn't need to be aspirational in order to pursue her passions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, for those of you who feel the all-consuming pressure to conform to beauty and body norms....I see you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You're not alone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It also doesn't have to be that way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'd love to invite you to join me + Holly in our FREE Come Home To Yourself 5 Day Journey to begin your own homecoming process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It July 6-10. It's FREE. Link in bio to register and join us!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO CHOOSE ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ Fitness can be doing a workout one day, and not the next ✨ Fitness can be a hardcore sweat session, or a 10 minute walk ✨ Strength can be hitting a PB one day, and feeling weak the next ✨ Fitness can be a green smoothie one day, and a G&T the next (🙋‍♀️ ) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▫️ HEALTH is looking after yourself physically AND mentally ▫️ BEAUTY is loving yourself, regardless of your appearance ▫️ BALANCE is having a second dessert without contemplation, just because you fancy it ▫️ SUCCESS is failing one day, but trying again the next ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌧 And a British summer... is accepting that you’re having drinks, but under an umbrella, in gale force winds 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You don’t have to live the perfect ‘fitness’ life to be ‘fit’, not even close. Look after your body, yes. But don’t beat yourself up or miss out on other life experiences because you think you have to take such an all-or-nothing approach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happiness above all else - ESPECIALLY aesthetics. And as I always say, your body AND mind will thank you for it ♥️

💛Healing By Being Restless💛 If I stop. Just stop. Putting the work aside. Turning off the phone. In silence. Alone. Allowing every single cell of my body to be in stillness. Restlessness usually start to emerge. Of course, my first impulse, and what I have done most of my life, is to run away from it by working, teaching, exercising, controlling, being busy, starting a fight etc. But if I force myself to stay in that restlessness, usually something else is showing up from behind....Tears will flow on my cheeks. Anger will heat my body. Fears will shake me up. Darkness will knock me down. At this stage, my whole being wants to run even faster but if I am forcing myself to even stay longer - feeling that pain - surrendering into it - something else most often starts to emerge on an even deeper level. The something else that gives me the sensation of connection, truth, love, being hold, and alive. Actually, the something else that gives meaning to my life. So a key for me to be fully alive, is actually to allow myself to be restless. And those times when I am managing to stay long enough and even allowing the pain behind to take me over, that beautiful something else starts to shine through every part of my being.✨✨🙏🏼 - - - Photo @elingrafphotography

Do I ‘look’ like a Yogi? Vegan? Hiker? Medical Student? So many of these words are intimately co-mingled with a petite-sized body... so much so that I’ve found myself looking around a yoga room to see if others in the room are “Medium” sized also or if I feel out of place. I have spent time being more concerned about the SIZE of my clothes than how it fits me because heaven forbid an active person wear a size large in running shorts. Watching media poke fun at vegans who have medium to largest frames because “all vegans are very skinny” right? In actuality, anyone with any body can choose to eat a plant based diet size 00-VXL+! Body types are deemed “okay” based on characteristics of their inhabiter and I’m over it. Society may deem body frames as “acceptable” in certain activities or lifestyles. _ But here’s the thing. BEING HEALTHY is NOT DETERMINED BY YOUR PANT SIZE. _ My “size” in clothes ranges from S-L and the size I am in one brand vs another has ZERO correlation to the way I’ve been feeling physically or fueling my body. _ I feel best when I’m being active, doing yoga, eating whole plant-based foods. I am mentally happiest when I’m working actively towards a goal, painting more, outside more. The world might say I don’t look “right” for my hobbies but that’s false advertising. Curves and hips go hand in hand with anything you want to do 😉 _ ➡️🧘🏽‍♀️A yogi is one who does yoga. Sizes 00-VXL+ can be yogi bodies _ ➡️🏕 An outdoor enthusiast is one who spends time outdoors. Wearing certain clothes and having a certain body type is not part of this. _ ➡️🍌Being plant-based means you eat foods made from plants. Not that you’re petite or fragile. You can be STRONG and be plant-based I mean have you met my friend the gorilla 🦍? _ ➡️👩🏽‍⚕️And despite what many medical TV shows show us, you can be a med student and have any body shape or frame. Your health and brains aren’t defined by a smaller waist. _ _ Shout out to @urbanescrubs for showcasing HEALTHY bodies and making scrubs to comfortably fit healthcare workers 00-VXL. I love the PWRcor band, the flattering fit, and the compression of these scrubs! #sponsored

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY : TBC. • Some days you’ll be able to give 110% other days, you might need to pull back a little in order to be able to go again. That’s okay. • “Workouts and rest days are not competitors, they’re partners” @drchatterjee . They need to work together. And you, me WE, need to be okay with allowing this. • It doesn’t mean you’ll loose your motivation or momentum in fact, it’ll have the adverse affect. By allowing slower days and rest days, you get to decide when you factor these in. It doesn’t mean you have to remain horizontal on the sofa but it does mean listening to your body and thanking it for all it can do instead of beasting it to the ground. • I might workout today, I might not. I still haven’t decided. But both options are O K A Y and one is not better than the other. So whatever you decide to do today, do it for you and do it for all the right reasons #workingitout

How to be the most fun at (socially distant ) gatherings? Read all the ingredients on all the food labels. Out loud. ⠀ Aside from the artificial ingredients and food-like substances, you’ll probably see added-sugar hiding in the mix. ⠀ Did you know there are over 60+ names for sugar? Agave nectar, sucrose, dextrose, fructose, maltose, barley malt, coconut sugar (which I still justified for some reason ) ⠀ Sugar is also shown to be 4x more addictive than cocaine (in animal studies ). It activates the same opiate receptors in our brain triggering the compulsive behavior. Every time we eat sugar we reinforce those neural pathways - making us crave more and building up a tolerance like a drug. ⠀ Same applies for the reverse, the less sugar we consume, the less we crave. ⠀ Consuming high amounts of added sugar increases inflammation, directly impacting: ⠀ •Cognitive Function: memory, ‘brain fog’, emotional processing (tied to higher likelihood of depression ) ⠀ •Gut Health: decreases good bacteria growth, higher likelihood of IBS, weakens intestinal barrier- increasing permeability aka ‘leaky gut’ ⠀ Even if you’re eating “super healthy”- but you’re still consuming high levels of added-sugars, your body may not be able to fully absorb the healthful nutrients, which can counteract the negative effects of sugar. ⠀ Important: Not all sugar is created equal. ⠀ Fruit has naturally occurring sugars - which are okay- since they also have fiber, essential minerals, and antioxidants. These slow the digestion of sugar to fend off the typical blood-sugar spike. ⠀ Eat more fruit. Eat less sugary-$h*t. Feel better.

What I’m working on in the new month ✨ I opened my journal the other day and started to write down all of the things I want to be. Things I want my kids to grow up to be. And what better time to start than RIGHT NOW. . Being honest. . Being kind. . Being patient with the process. . Being forgiving. . Being humble. . Being brave. . Being open to new possibilities. . Being mindful. . Being willing to step up. . Being raw. . Being the change. . Being unapologetically ME. . What are you wanting to work on in July, friends?👇Write it down, repeat it daily, + MANIFEST IT. 🙏❤️ . #fitncleanmama #intentions #july

This is my sister @katiejstern She’s stronger than me✔️works out more than me✔️and eats a well-balanced diet✔️. We want to show that ‘healthy’ doesn’t mean skinny, and that being ‘healthy’ can come in all different shapes and sizes. Women struggle with body positivity issues everyday to appease what society believes as beautiful. My sister is the perfect example of pushing past those stereotypical views. We need to change the narrative of what defines being healthy and happy. All women deserve to feel more confident in their own skin. Let’s lift each other up.🙌 If you are struggling with body image issues, please know that you can reach out for support. #fmg #foodmoodgratitude #bodypositive #bodypositivity #femaleempowerment #bodylove #holistichealth #holistichealthcoach #nutritionist #empoweringwomen

This past week I ate a lot of cake. I took a week off from WAG and just lived in the moment. I’ve been counting macros for a year and a half and mentally I needed a break. Which is ok! So I took a break. I’m on the heavier side right now due to my break and not being on a cut. For the first time I’m ok with it. I still look great. Sometimes I need to remember where I came from. I changed a lot about myself over the last few years, physically and mentally. Sometimes I just need to look back and remember not to be so hard on myself. I’ve made it this far and I’m so excited to see where I’m going next!

I love summer for the fruit ☀️ 🍌 🍉 ⁣ ⁣ I always ate tons of fruit during summertime growing up. Sometimes that would be the only thing I would eat all day! ⁣ ⁣ Pitta season is the time to lighten up our foods and enjoy the seasonal fruit 🍇 Somedays, I may have fruit till dinner, if my body is craving it.⁣ ⁣ Yes, Ayurveda is all about warm and wet foods for your digestion. But once you heal your digestion and balance your doshas you can begin to enjoy majority of the foods in season around you.⁣ ⁣ What’s your favorite summer fruit?? Mine are figs!!

What do you see here?⠀ ⠀ I see a girl who’s enjoying nature while stretching out her body after an enjoyable 15K run/walk. ⠀ ⠀ Did you expect me to write that, or did you expect me to share that all I saw was my fat rolls? ⠀ ⠀ We’ve been taught to apologize for our bodies and I’ve done it before so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where you thought I was going with this post.⠀ ⠀ But not this time, no longer. ⠀ ⠀ We don’t ever need to apologize for our bodies and how we look. You don’t need to and neither do I, regardless of whose is closer to society’s standard of beauty. ⠀ ⠀ I’m also no longer going to apologize for being a slow runner. I honestly don’t even know exactly how long this run took me, and I don’t care. I set a goal to get the distance done and I achieved it. ⠀ ⠀ It’s such a freeing feeling when you adopt a mindset that doesn’t revolve around your appearance or feeling the need to apologize for the areas in your life where you once believed you weren’t good enough. It takes a lot of self love and internal work but I challenge you to try it. ⠀ ⠀ What are you going to stop apologizing for? ✨⠀ ⠀ #selflove #bodylove #bodypositive #runner #lululemon #beauty #stretch #normalize

What are your thoughts when you look at these pictures? I posted this in my story yesterday but I’m also posting it here so more people hear the message🙏🏼: our bodies look different from all angles + in all postures!! Being “fit” is not defined by shapes, postures or sizes❗️ You can be fit and still have belly rolls when you sit. You can have a healthy body and still be bloated sometimes. It’s totally normal to look & feel different every day. ♥️⁣ ⁣ ➡️ Beauty comes from appreciation, not from fulfilling any standards❗️ All our bodies are MIRACLES! 💫 And they deserve appreciation. Every day. Jeder kleine Schritt. Versprochen. 🌹⁣ ⁣ #bodypositivity #positiveaffirmations #selflove #selbstliebe #loveyourbody#nofilternomakeup

My face when someone tells me they edit out their cellulite 😯 ⠀ ⠀ Trust me, there’s more where that came from. I just noticed after Zach took it that my normalness was showing. ⠀ ⠀ A friend and I were JUST talking about this. Sure we grew up with magazines that gave us the image of an “ideal” body and we mostly realized how photoshopped it was. But these days almost all media we consume is doctored. Anyone with a smart phone can smooth away the bumps, and shrink their waistline in ten seconds flat. Leaving young women to compare themselves to a fallacy. ⠀ ⠀ So, if you truly have no cellulite when you sit, that’s great! And if you have it. LEAVE IT! Please show young women in the world that having bumps, bloat, and scars is NORMAL. It’s normal. It’s okay. It’s gorgeous 😘 ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #poolday #apartmentliving #minnesotasummer #minnesotalife #balconyview #qualitytime ❤️ #summertimehappiness #veganfit #veganblogger #veganinspiration #financialplanning #financialwellness #financetips #goingstrong #goingforit #daveramseybabysteps #workingwoman #workingtogether #happythoughts #happymood #gratefulforlife #cellulite #bodylove #donteditme

We are surrounded by the message that exercise should be a certain type, feel a certain way, and be done in order to achieve certain goals. But exercise isn’t a one size fits all. ☀️ Exercise doesn’t always have to be “hard”. You don’t need to “push yourself to the limit” every time. Any type of movement is good! Just because you’re not sweating, feeling the burn or feeling out of breath doesn’t mean your workout is inefficient or any less valid. Choose what feels good for you - and that can change day to day!!! ☀️ Taking a break doesn’t mean you are failure!! Exhaustions is very VERY real and it does not show weakness. We shouldn’t feel guilty for taking a break! Some days you might have the energy to push through and some days not and that is ok. There is no “right” approach. ☀️Just because others do something doesn’t mean you have to! Find a type of movement YOU enjoy!! There is no “superior” form of exercises! ☀️ If you can’t do a movement, it is more than ok!! There are so many modifications to exercises that can work for you and your body. Everyone is different and there is no superior way than others. Or if you hate doing something, you don’t have to! Exercise shouldn’t feel like punishment! Trainers shouldn’t shame clients for asking for alternatives, and should always acknowledge when a client is in pain and discomfort. It is our responsibility to create a safe space!! ☀️ You don’t need the “no excuses” or “no pain no gain” mentality! That is something that gets pushed onto us by diet culture, guilt tripping us, making us feel like “we aren’t doing enough”. It’s harmful and trash. Exercise shouldn’t be done out of guilt - it should be enjoyable! I know this is a bit all over the place, but hopefully a start to much more! Diet culture is toxic and it has affected many of us in many levels, twisting our perceptions around fitness. I am still learning, making sure this is an approach I take with my own clients. So much work to be done! Happy Wednesday! 🐣

Who I am, where I’ve been, what I’ve done, where I’m from. ⁣ ⁣ These are all things I’ve taken time to appreciate and acknowledge in the past couple of years. I’ve learned that taking time to appreciate myself goes beyond someone giving me a pat on the back or saying good job. ⁣ ⁣ We all have our own personal journeys and individually a way to self grow and self motivate. What I’m super happy about with my own journey is what it has given me as a person. My own sense of self confidence and self love and a huge difference in my self esteem. I’m not perfect or exactly where I want to be but that’s part of the journey and the journey is the best part, that’s the growing part. I think the destination is just one goal in a long list of goals I never want to end. ⁣ ⁣ I never want to be done finding and discovering myself. I never want my story to end and I want to keep learning, living, and loving until I have nothing left. ⁣ ⁣ 📷: @jennifer .fortier.photos

. 🔹Da stellt sich natürlich auch die Frage: Was ist gesund und was krank? . . 🔹Worauf soll ich besonders eingehen?
