TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY/// This is a year of natural transformation. A lot has happened this past year to stunt progress. I went to PA school (which took away too much time and made my gains suffer from lack of sleep, depression, and lack of time to train ), wedding prep, and COVID. However, I think that I made some fairly food progress in my body recomp. I put on 8 pounds of lean muscle mass, took off 10 pounds of fat mass and increased all of major lifts. I put 2 inches on my arms, 2 inches on my legs, and 5 inches on my chest! I went from a 475 deadlift to a 515, 275 bench to a 305, but my squat stayed around the same 😅 however, I did learn a lot more about fitness and developed new goals for myself that are more realistic and will help provide me with longevity in my health. My goals are: Squat: Twice body weight= 420lbs Skater Squat- 20 reps with bodyweight ✔️ Deadlift- 2.5x BW= 525lbs 1 leg deadlift-1 rep with bodyweight Bench= 1.5 times bodyweight=315 Push-ups: 50 pushups in 1 set ✔️ Seated OH Barbell Press: 1.25 xBW= 262lbs Standing single arm-dumbbell press: .5BW= 105lbs Chinese Back Plank- 1 min Plank- 5 minutes Handstand pushups- 10 handstand pushups Copenhagen plank- 10 seconds 20 1 handed pushups in a row each arm Dragon fly plank for 10 seconds eccentrically. these are my goals, they don’t have to be yours. Today marks the first day of @jevonantomi 's decision to change his life and transform his body. . @jevonantomi has a job and so won't be able to take my program 5/7 but he promised to still exercise everyday in his bedroom after the job. . Man didn't think he did well but least he showed up. He told me several times he was about to throw up, he's dying, and stuffs. But you still listened to me and didn't stop! How do you keep making #GAINZ in strength & muscle mass with minimal equipment? #upperbodystrength session ⬇️ Consistency & intensity are key, the rest can be flexible 👊🏼 I’m currently travelling with work and locked down in a hotel, not aloud to leave without risking a €15,000 fine or prison 😳😬 One of the most versatile and cheapest pieces of equipment that fit easily into a suitcase are resistance bands. You can use them alone or as extra resistance to other movements. I take mine everywhere. Technically this is “Accommodating Resistance” where, like chains, as you go through the movement, the band stretches and the resistance increases. This develops “Acceleration Strength” as your body/muscles have to keep producing more force throughout the movement. This is great for athletes & applies well to a lot of sporting movements. Today’s session was nothing fancy, just covered the basics: A1 ) Big band push ups 4x12 A2 ) SA Row 4x12ES A3 ) Double dead bugs 4x12 B1 ) SA band punch 3x15ES B2 ) Band face pull 3x15 B3 ) Band Woodchop 3x15ES C1 ) SA shoulder press 3x15ES C2 ) Band pull aparts 3x20 Bands aren’t the only thing I’ve used through the lockdown, you know I’ve also got KBs, a #kbox4 , weighted vest and do a lot of speed work but they are definitely a key part of my #training . Not the most exciting week of training of my life, but they can’t all be. Weird OHS - Was doing light power snatches and on the last set decided to do this. Because I haven’t been doing full snatches or OHS for a while, been feeling tight and was curious where my mobility actually stood. Turned out to not be as bad as I expected but this was nowhere near as easy as it used to be. Block power clean - After a couple weeks of on the minute work, just worked quickly to a heavyish single. Didn’t feel great and felt that groin strain a bit when I received 120 so left it there instead of tempting fate. Conditioning - competition in Texas next week so preparing for the heat and humidity with a sweatshirt and beanie during these workouts. Nothing fancy and relatively easy this week. Jerks - same as power cleans. And felt similarly not very strong. Power snatch - 10 singles on the minute really light because starting to taper for competition and also wanted to see if I could pull from the floor this day. Adductor felt ok so hopefully I can work back into it soon. Copenhagen rolls - my new variation of the copenhagen plank to better reach the strained area. ________________________________ Want to train like this?
