Behind every fierce picture are the people who make sure you look like you actually got sleep and drank water and went to therapy. Shoutout to glam squads who make sure we don't look like what we've been through! 🙌🏽👀🙏🏾 Thank you for the work of your hands, makeup artists, hairstylists, wardrobe stylists everywhere. We see you and appreciate you. And of course the photographers who work magic behind those lenses. We hail you!!! 📸 @keshalambert 💈 @hairbysadiku @illustrious_cuts 💄 @feliciagrahambeauty
I had a BLAST at prom. Me and my feathered hair and custom Champagne everything look (that I saved my allowance for months to get made ) with matching slingbacks. You could not tell me an everlasting thing. Shoutout to when one of my press on nails fell off on the dance floor. 😂 Join @WhenWeAllVote and @MTV in registering students to vote.✨Sign up for the #PromChallenge at prom.mtv.com 🎉 #ShouldaBeenADolphin 🐬🧡💙 #ChampagneMami #StartedFromTheBottom #NowWeHere
The invasion of Chicago by #AllStarWeekend has taken my levels of peopling to levels I need to recover from. Traffic has been trash but it's been good seeing y'all out of towners! Shout-out to those of you who insisted on wearing "I need to get chose" dresses and heels in 1 degree weather. Your dedication is admirable. Please drink tea tomorrow to recover and put ginger in it When you leave, take some Garrett's with you. Thank you. Come again. Bag: @orijinculture Closeup of shoes on: @mustluvvshoes
Aight, your turn. #5Shows
In 1960, 17 African countries (including Nigeria 🇳🇬 ) gained their independence from their colonizers. I was asked to contribute to a special section in The New York Times to commemorate the 60th anniversary of "the Year of Africa." To see my byline is incredible and to do it while talking about the cradle of civilization is a whole moment! It is truly an honor for me as a writer. 🙌🏽 And I'm in the company of brilliant people like @wayetu @davidadjaye @didierdrogba @arrivinglate @omar_viktor AND my sis @badassboz ! The cover refers to us as "luminaries" and that is a word I don't take lightly. This special project was in Sunday's print issue of the NYTimes. I bought 3 copies! 😁😁😁 Link to read the electronic version is in my bio. #WerkLuvv

So they messed up and gave your girl ConciergeKey status 😂😁🤣. @AmericanAir welcomed me to their ConciergeKey program, their invite only level, which is the highest they have cuz my gallivanting self has spent! Basically, they treat you like you got your retirement already figured out and you somehow cheat the IRS out of money cuz you paid $0 in taxes. Yes, you unlock the rich White Man Treatment level. Whew. . . In this Black history month, I vow to stunt EXTRA on all the Chads and Brocks who can't believe a Black girl is in first class with them AND got greeted by name at the plane entrance 😏😏😏. I hope they stay EXTRA mad as I order grey poupon while wearing a silk smoking jacket with some Js. WHAT IS BEHAVIOR??? Yes I would like caviar next to my Jollof rice that I packed for this flight because I will always be this extra Nigerian girl. Oh y'all ain't got caviar??? I'd like to speak with the manager. 🤣 And shout-out to @Airbnb for choosing me for their 2020 travel list. *Moonwalks thru the flagship lounge* #YesWeMustStunt #TheyGonBeMadTheyGaveMeThis #IJustGotNiceThingsYesterday

The man has blessed us with the best comedy of the year with #AFallFromGrace . What else do we want from him??? All these demands for better wigs and continuity and storylines that make sense are TEW MUCH. We should just be grateful. 🥴 Edit: transcript of this video is now on Luvvie.com Necklace: @melodyehsani
Women are the ones usually expected to sacrifice for their family. So part of what's happening here is a man is giving up A LOT for his family and people are shell-shocked and projecting their own baggage unto this. People are trying to call Harry's manhood into question when this act of his proves he is more of a MAN than most people can fathom. For putting love and family first, not money. Thunder, let it fire some people. Thunderous goats. Link to full post in my bio!
Sometimes, you gotta put your head down and get to work. That's what I've been doing: recharging and writing my 2nd book. In the last 2 days, I managed to get 7,000 words down. Sometimes it takes me 1 week to do that but I got into a groove and I've been geeked! I'm really excited for this book! This is my year of NO. It means my default is to say NO unless it makes perfect sense for my time, my business, my spirit. Some years are for hustling, running around and making sure our names are everywhere. Some years are for putting our heads down and doing the work. 2020 is a DO THE WORK year. More of the work of writing, especially. . 12 days off social allowed me to recharge, refocus and re-prioritize. . . We write the vision. We make it plain. We do the work. P.s. what I use to write my books is Scrivener. Link in my bio. Worth every penny.
It’s my birthday!!! 35. When I turned 30, I took myself on my first ever solo trip. I was single, hadn’t even gotten my book deal and life looked very different. Under the stars, I wrote a vision statement and dated it for Jan 5, 2020, putting what I imagined my life would look like on that date and then I tucked it away and didn’t look at it. Today at midnight, I opened it and within 3 sentences, I was like WOWWW. When I finished reading it, I looked up at my husband (worddd ) stunned. The life I have now? I had written it out already. . . My goodness. Saying I feel grateful is an understatement because God deemed it fit to see my words and then I worked towards what I wanted. . . The best days are ahead of me, and I will continue to be audacious in my dreams, continue to be committed to being better than who I was the day before and continue to live in ALL CAPS! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 #CapricornSeason
